TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Samad Marfavi has been named as new head coach of Paykan football team on Thursday.

Marfavi parted company with Saba and took charge Paykan in the Iran Professional League (IPL).

The 49-year-old coach replaced Mansour Ebrahimzadeh who stepped down as his job on Monday.

Behtash Fariba and Saket Elhami will assist Marfavi in the new post.

Former Esteghlal coach Parviz Mazloumi, former Sepahan coach Zlatko Kranjcar and former Persepolis coach Ali Daei were also among the candidates to take charge of the Tehran-based team."

Because he is way better than all the other midfielders in the team and they need someone with experience and plays with gheyrat for the club in order to get them out of the shitty situation they're in! Malavan is his roots and he always plays like a lion when he puts the Malavan shirt on. He's a fantastic addition for them just wait and see!

PP should spend some big $$$ on Edinho to help them offensively. Frankly I have never seen PP that weak on paper in my life and I don't want them to be an embarrassment for Iran in the ACL. Instead they spend on a Brazilian nobody, who as a striker, never scored more than 6 goals in any of the clubs where he played (those 6 goals were scored in a 2nd Japanese league team.. embarrassing really)

Didn't know where to post this but Aria Hasegawa is probably joning Liga Adelante team Real Zaragoza. The new coach Ranko Popovic is seemingly a big fan of Aria and is trying to push through the transfer.

One Wrong coach is gone.
He was a wrong choice for Malavan. 2 point 8 games ! they could have save their money and without a coach 2 points was possible.

Real Zaragoza just got relegated from La Liga. They are currently 6th in the table which means play-offs for promotion at the end of the season, would be a very good move!

well he was called up by CQ once and declined. So I think we should try to forget about him. CQ would really never ask him twice.

He should definitely be called up. I mean he cant even play in a friendly for japan but thats okay because japan is like germany compared to iran.
