England deserved it. Mexico lost it for their shitty tactics. They chose to cross all their balls for 20 minutes knowing that they are much shorter than the English players. How stupid is that????
So they deserved to lose. They brought in one tall player to achive goals while England had everyone taller, so they lost to their poor coach and tactics. Feel sorry for the spectators.

His height was the difference for the first goal...that is tough to prevent.....but
The usual...cover the great players with two and don't give them time on the ball.
That second goal was all defensive error. No one on him. He was exhausted and moving very slowly...just had to be on him...took him ages to get set up and shoot.
Brazil just sucked and Norway showed Japan why they missed an opportunity of a lifetime.
Japan should have had that game with their incredible talent and hussle.
Don't fear anyone. Toe to toe. Be Cape Verde, not Paraguay.
cannot believe FIFA reversed Balogun's one-game ban. How corrupt can you get. Some decisions like penalties or offsides on the field can always be controversial, but, when you get a red card, the law is pretty clear. It's a one game suspension.
Beligium is appealing the decision, but even if they win the appeal, the FIFA president should be thrown out like smelly piece of trash.

I was going to root for the US today. But with this cheating, I will root against them. This is ridiculous. If you were going to reverse the call, you should have done it right after the game. not 4 days later. FIFA is trying to push US into the final 8. I hope they get trashed for this.

Yeah, they had like 40 crosses into the box, and more stupid than that, they pulled their best play from the tournament out, which I am not sure why, Julian Quinones should have played the 90 minutes.
Honestly they only reason Mexico goes as far as they go is because of the elevation of the stadium.
“I have seen the public comments regarding the decision of the independent FIFA Disciplinary Committee related to the suspension of Folarin Balogun, and I would like to reiterate a fundamental principle of FIFA’s governance. “FIFA’s judicial bodies are independent. They operate autonomously, apply the FIFA Disciplinary Code, and decide cases based on the applicable regulations and the specific facts before them. Their independence is essential to the credibility and integrity of football, and this must always be respected. “Yes, I regularly discuss matters related to the FIFA World Cup with the President of the United States, and on this matter, I did receive a call from President Donald Trump, just as I receive calls from heads of state, government officials, football stakeholders and business executives from around the world on many different issues. During our conversation, I explained that there was an ongoing legal process involving FIFA’s independent judicial bodies and that the case would be decided in due course by the competent bodies. That is how FIFA’s system works, and it is a principle that I will always uphold. “I read the decisions of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee when they are issued. Sometimes I am surprised by them. Sometimes I agree with them, and sometimes I disagree. “What I always do, however, is respect those decisions and the autonomy of the bodies that make them. Whether we personally like a decision or not is irrelevant. Respect for independent institutions and the rule of law is what protects the integrity of our competitions and the credibility of FIFA at all times.”
Or, in summary .... yes, we in FIFA are corrupt and as long as you fill up our pockets with money, we will gladly insert our nose in the location where the sun doesn't shine.
Also they are not allowing people to respond to their explanation on twitter. they have blocked the entire world except for a select number of people

I think if he gets to play, it will actually work against the US team. The distraction and the negativity will follow them throughout the game.

I don't get all the fuss around the Balogun thing. Is Fifa corrupt? Yes, there's corruption in Fifa as they 've shown in multiple instances that they will prioritize revenue over the game and making the ethical decision. However, Correlation does not equal causation. Did Balogun deserve to be sent off? No. It should've been a yellow card as evidence against malicious intent clearly outweighs the lack of evidence for supporting it, especially when you watch it at live speed and consider how the two players collided while fighting for positioning and the ball.
Would they have supsended the decision had it not been a key player of the US as a host nation? Maybe or maybe not but they should always review these decisions in the elimination rounds with everything on the line and this wasn't the first time they overruled a card suspension either. And of course if I'm Belgium, I am gonna complain and ask for an appeal regardless but the bottom line is that justice was served.
As always, some are just looking for an opportunity to hate on Trump no matter what.
