If there was one rule I wish FIFA would consider changing, it would be this whole red card situation. A game where one team is playing with one less player is no longer a game. What FIFA should do is let the team replace the ejected player with a player from their bench. Already the fouls are much less compared to 20 or 30 years ago, and they can certainly put a rule in place that an ejected player cannot play in the next one or two games. But you need to have games that are 11 versus 11. A game where you have 11 versus 10 players is meaningless. No other sport does this. The only sport that does this but only for a two minute period is hockey.

On the other hand, when a stronger team makes a mistake, such as losing possession or committing a foul that results in a red card, it gives the underdog an opportunity. Playing 11 against 10 makes football exciting and reminds us that anything can happen in this sport for the weakness team. But I do understand your point.
Honestly, I think some of the red cards shown to smaller teams in this World Cup, even Sulaka's, for example would probably not have been given if one of the Big Five nations had been involved in the exact same situation. I have serious doubts that either the referee or the VAR would have sent off a Brazilian player or Argentine from one of those teams for that type of fault.

Look to the match Qatar (0-6) Canada. The second sending-off, which came after the unfortunate injury to the player, should never have been a straight red card. Qatar are already a weak team on their own, but having to play with nine men the whole second half turned it into the worst match of this World Cup.
