For nearly 50 years, I've been following this team. And every 4 years, it is the same disappointment. Now that we're in a state where most of us want to punish this team for political and theological ideologies, I bet this is the year that they will finally advance out of the group stage. The year that most of us DON"T want them to, will be the year that they actually will.
And I'll state again that these guys are just athletes with dumb minds, I don't need them to give anyone public health advice. But yes, they can do a better job of protesting the regime without getting themselves (or relatives) killed/jailed But even everyone that is complaining about the team, will be watching the games. None of you have the heart to "ban" and boycott this team. And trust me sunni, even all the shitte talk about them is still talking about them, and the entire website is dedicated to them, and posts and news stories are still coming in, despite all the animosity.
So I say again, just watch, the year that we don't want them to advance will be the year that they do. And no matter how much we hate it, deep down, we will all get a bit of joy out of it. Especially if some of the players surprise you by making a stance or gesture to subliminally say fak the regime!
