    Backs to the Flag Campaign

    Hi,
It's been a while. In case you don't know me, I designed this website's logo and am a long-time football fan.
I realize there's a lot of division among us. I'm here to propose an action that might unite us once again, for those who are planning to be at the stadium for Iran's games.

No matter what we think about the team, I think most of us don't approve of the regime and how it massacres our own people. FIFA may not allow fans to take in our flag of choice, but we can send a powerful message of resistance to the world by turning our backs to the IRI flag during the pre-game. Why I think this works:
1- It transcends language. We can sing "Ey Iran" but to everyone else it sounds like just another chant
2- This creates a powerful non-violent image or resistance that immediately grabs attention. There's no way to ignore or censor this (outside Iran)
3- Fifa can't do anything to stop this
4- At a time of bitter divisions, this unites us in a common action. It doesn't matter what you think about this team, or the war, or other things. Most of us hate this fucking flag.

We just need a critical mass of people attending the games to start the wave. A few people in each section is all that's needed to get others to join. So if you're going, or know someone who is, please consider sharing this poster or message with them.

Love this. I won't be going to any of the games, mostly because I refuse to pay these ridiculous ticket prices for any sporting event these days, but if I was, this is a great way to protest (and not get the Shir/Khorshid flags taken away by security). If all the fans do this during our games, it will send a powerful message. Fak the regime. Like most, I'll be watching the games at home and I'm sure this gesture, if carried out will bring a tear to every eye and send the message we need.

      Very good...

Though booing the IR anthem with backs to field sends a vocal and visual message!

      Get RP to endorse it...

If they let us take our flags, I will take it with me but if not, we will definitly diss the killers flag and anthem for sure.

We will be a very loud voice in the stadiums because we wamt to reflect our peoples' voices from Iran.

The world will hear our voice for sure while it will be muted in Iran but we will post 100s of videos on Instagram or Facebook afterwards.

        They cant silence us anymore.

Hello everyone - I am glad to be back after a while.

May I suggest that those of you who go to the games carry white balloons in your pockets. You can have pre printed whatever flag you like on the balloons. You would inflate the balloons at the stadium. a very inconspicuous way to carry your beloved flags inside.

They can mute your voices but cannot hide the balloons.
.... At the end I am nothing other than ordinary

I don't like this idea because of course I am against Iranian Regime but this type of action is a lot of pressure for the players on the field and I have full respect for them so maybe the people could be protest outside the stadium.

You have respect for a team with a bunch of regime and sepah khayemals who accepted to play for a flag that massacred tens of thousands iranians in january?

                  Interesting....

I am very sure the players don't support iranian regime and they have a lot of pressure with everything also they only want to play for the people.

I made another version of the poster. Booing is good, balloons are good, taking the lion and sun flag is good. But none of these will have as much visual impact as everyone turning their backs to the flag. non-Iranians don't know about the flag story. They won't even notice the difference between the lion and sun flags and the IRI flag. But imagine all Iranians in the stadiums turning their backs together. That grabs attention. There is no way to ignore that. What a powerful image that will create.

^ I totally agree that turning our back will be a very good idea and we will defintly do this during their carb anthem. We need to show the world that we dont want this regime.

We all know that the left has completely abandoned our people and continues working with our enemy and since they will be watching, they would get the drift hopefully

How do you foresee yourself acting during the game? I am so over with this team and IR that I don't even want to be in the stadium. I would be kicked out for foshing the staff/khayemal players particularly Shoja and Torabi and booing hard during that anthem. I wouldn't want to pay money to risk being kicked out. It's brave to go into the stadium knowing the FIFA IR parasts will be looking for any excuse to kick out dissenters and replace them with paid Pakistani "IR Iran" fans. FIFA is on these bastards side too, the whole WC is bogus to me. I used to care so much in advance of 2014 and 2018, but 2022, my care dropped significantly with the Mahsa protests and now IR has sucked any care I could have for this team away. I hope US stops all the staff at the border and the players come in and get sent home quickly and barely anybody notices they were there. That's the best outcome to limit IR propaganda.

A lot of the players do support the regime unfortunately. Many of them benefit from being the rich amongst the poor in Iran. Being the regime's preferred playthings. They get paid handsomely, get preferential treatment to the average Iranian, many are even above the law. They won't be converting away from Islam and happy their level of power in such a corrupt country could diminish in a free Iran. Many of these players are selfish. Some are okay and are not tarafdar of IR, but I'd say a lot of them are just fine with IR the way it is and probably would prefer not to see it change. The people who were powerful and having money flowing in in any autocratic country, like Soviet Russia don't pray for the system's downfall. They're rich and privileged and prefer no change.

I imagine you'll say "can you read the players' minds?" and I'll respond that it's common sense. Look at their actions, their fervent kissing of the Quran, etc. These guys are brainwashed by the current system and they benefit from the status quo in Iran. I wish Torabi shoot 20 sootis and get laughed out of the stadium and be branded least valuable player of this WC and Shoja/Beiranvand to get dribbled around like the school children level they are and humiliated. These guys are dickheads, and I suspect many more like them. I can count on my one hand the ones who probably really don't like the current system.

Them bringing Damaghlou instead of Sardar because of the political situation is enough to wish these guys get their asses beaten badly. The players and captains not making even a statement about that shows where they are. I doubt IR will kill them for saying Sardar deserves to be on the squad, but again, they are too selfish. I get a young player not saying this, but ARJ and Taremi, this is their last world cup, they are old. Make a stand on something as easily amoral as bringing a shit player over Sardar due to political issues.

^ if we don't go, then they will benefit from it. I see this as an opportunity to show the world and that I have paid so much money so this way I would get my money's worth. And if they don't allow them in the country which I think they will, so they will be the winners not us by letting them enjoy the game and spread more propaganda for the regime.
