even though I love sardar and yes he should express how he feels w/o fear ,at the same time we fans should not turn on tm because of 1 player not getting selected.

If a black player was excluded from a national team because of his race, would that team be worth following?
A national team needs to represent the nation. People here have said Sardar was excluded because of his Sunni creed. Or Sardar has been excluded because of his political beliefs.
This is not our national team. It is a bunch of selfish sycophants representing a murderous government.

Supporting the team and caring about what's happening in Iran aren't mutually exclusive. The players on that pitch aren't the regime, most of them are young guys who've worked their whole lives for this, and many have shown where their hearts are in their own ways.Originally posted by persiangodfather View Postyou guys cheered Sardar all these years and now just because he stood up for something hes kicked off the team but people still support this team. Sardar's situation is genuinely frustrating and the politics behind it are real, but wishing the team loses by 6 goals doesn't hurt the people making those decisions, it hurts the players and the fans who find some rare common ground around this team. You can hold both things at once, acknowledge the bigger issue and still support the guys wearing that shirt.
That being said, this has been discussed plenty in other threads already, so opening a new one just to post something like this shows you've run out of road with the argument my friend. It stops feeling like a conversation and starts feeling like bait.
And this has also come up before, and I say this respectfully, but what you're doing isn't activism.Keep going down that road and people will tune you out entirely because at some point there's just nothing left to engage with.

I opened this thread to announce that what the filthy regime has done to sardar our punishment will be as such. In asian cup I declared we will not win even tho we had an easy path and thats because we are cursed and being punished. We will continue this curse and what they did to azmoun just adds to itWE ARE THE UNDER DOGS

Sardar is a famous name and they trying to get publicity through him.Originally posted by Omid177 View Post
Why not Allahyar though? What's the difference between them from a political point of view?
I personally think at this junktion he will be a distraction to the team and will hurt more than help.
Ac different story.

Classic IR gaslighting - taking something regular away that's a given right (Hijab, Music, Partying, Freedom of Expression, etc.), and saving it as a card to play later as needed and putting it on display to make people think that they're the bad ones for misjudging them, and that they're actually liberal too, and it's not all as bad as ppl make it out to be. Prime example was at the height of the war, female clothing kept coming off layer by layer as the fear of collapse was elevating more and more lol, i.e. allowing the mixed partying at Kish Island and recording it, or showing the best looking "Parastoos" without Hijab at their night gatherings to interview and for the world to see. They've been deceiving ppl for years, that's all they really ever had and were good at - Propaganda... and the sad part is that some still haven't caught on and still fall for their despicable games.
In the case of Sardar, they're also trying to use him like many other celebrities and athletes. Of course they want him to play - they made a big deal about his picture with practically his employer, and now they will try to portray themselves as the forigving and kind party in the situation, and muster up some support and excitement for the team playing under their flag.
Playing in a world cup is a big deal for any pro footballer, but If I am Sardar, I'd tell them to fuck off out of principle, sit this one out, and refuse to be used as a propoganda prop.
