To be honest man I fully understand and sympathize with a lot of the political rhetoric around the team. I just have very few joys left in this world and will stick my head in the sand and still enjoy Iran at the world footballing stage.

With that said bro this team has to be one of the most dislikeable TMs I have ever seen. Half the team are arzeshis, and its not just that they have to support the regime but some actually go out of their way to show their loyalty lol. So I fully understand those who say this is not the people's team. I just thought there was enough political substance around TM and we don't need to bring that tokhmi conflict into it aswell.

On top of that we have one of the worst and biggest POS in world football as our coach. Incompetent, bikelas are just a few words to describe him. The Japan game last AC saved his ass and made people forget how we struggled against Syria and Hong Kong.

Honestly wouldn't surprise me if New Zealand totally outclasses us tactically and win. Lets hope I'm wrong though.

I don't disagree bro. I also understand why people don't want to support the team. Where I disagree with the is that they go out of their way to be actively against the team on a match support thread, and will probably show up to matches just to boo the team and lower their moral.

Hating the team or individual players is fine. And I agree the coach is a douche. But at the end of the day, this is Iran's team. Whether some players support the IR or secretly back the Shah doesn't matter. What will remain when all this is over is Iran's name. Tomorrow your Swedish friend won't think that IR team got destroyed, they'll think 3rd world Iran is trash at football.

I'm not saying we won't lose tomorrow btw 😂 In 2022, I actually had high hopes for the team, and they embarrassed me in front of my birth country and friends I'd been telling Iran is underrated for 15y+. So no expectations

The thrashing against England is still fresh in my mind. I blame a large part of it on Iranian fans suddenly turning against Team Melli and creating a super negative atmosphere for the players, after the Iran International media campaign them. I’m hoping this time they can block out the hate. We’re not as good a team as we were four years ago, but maybe the experience will help with resilience.
