I know there are many pure monarchy fans on this site, but RP himself has never claimed to want to seize power or proclaim himself king when returning to Iran. He’s said ad nauseum that he wants to be a part of the committee for transition and people can vote for if they want a pure democratic republic, or a constitutional monarchy, or whatever and if they don’t want monarchy, he’ll throw his hat in a race and people could choose to vote for him or if they’re stupid could vote Ahmadinejhad or anyone they want.

It makes me sad that people twist it into IR or God Emperor Shah RP as the options, that’s not the case and disingenuous. We have 0 symbolic figure head for our movement to oust IR. Disorganized people with no leader will never have a chance to change Iran and rid us of IR. RP is this symbol for many, and it undercuts the movement to say “well who died and made RP the leader?” We have no other options, and nobody with charisma, name recognition, political relationships, etc. has risen up as an alternative. If we had Amoo Ghassem who could gather international support, was beloved by many Iranians, had a far reaching social presence, etc. it would be amazing, but as of now, RP is the closest we have to that and I personally think he’s doing well. It doesn’t make you a vatan foroush to not want him as a king, but many undercutting him as a symbol of the revolutionary movement are also undercutting the ability of the movement of itself to succeed.

Ghorbonet for your 1+1=2 logic that some vatanforoush oghdei people here have a hard time to get through their heads even after the man (RP) have said 100000 of times that he does not aiming for the throne and the only thing that will and should determine Irans future is the ballot boxes.

If RP is genuinely positioning himself as a transitional symbol rather than a predetermined outcome, that’s a meaningfully different claim than what many of his loudest supporters are arguing. The problem is those loudest voices usually aren’t making that nuanced case. They’re treating any scrutiny as regime collaboration, calling people traitors, telling critics to burn in hell, and reading dissent as proof of a secret pro-IR agenda. That’s not movement-building. That’s a loyalty cult dressed up in the lingo of liberation.

A symbol who can’t survive being questioned isn’t a democratic symbol. He’s an icon.

I’m not saying RP should be entirely dismissed. I’m saying the people doing him the most damage aren’t his critics. They’re his most fervent defenders, who can’t seem to tell the difference between “I have concerns about this strategy” and “you work for the mullahs.” That kind of thinking doesn’t get you to a free Iran. It gets you to a different kind of unfree one.

I don’t know, he’s old and on top of that he’s defensively weak. By the way, I know a Brazilian guy who actually discovered Ramin back then. He was a futsal coach in Iran

Our players have been diving the entire game against Gambia and have been horrible at defending and passing (outside of the first goal). Both of our goals scored were very nice but outside of that it has been a nightmare to watch
