If IR team ultimately plays, almost a guarantee they'll play US in Rof32. I think that is the most likely outcome with multiple online pundits already predicting US and Iran will each finish second in their groups to face each other in Rof32. I will be cheering for USA in such game. I think the players should resign at this point and not play for these assholes. I look forward to the day everyone in that room chanting that braindead monkey chant is put in jail or sent to wander and live in the desert where they belong. The players don't seem to be chanting thankfully, but whether they like it or not, they are being used as a tool for propaganda by IR. Looking forward to the opening game as I'll be there. Its been a dream to watch TM play since the 2006 WC when I watched them and was inspired to return to soccer and play in HS. Everything going on in Iran and the world is disheartening, but these men are just people, not politicians, warlords or activists and I'm sure most would prefer not to live under threats from the US and Iranian governments. But they are proud to represent their homeland and, to that extent, I'll be proud to root for them next month. Can't wait to see so many of these players in person after watching them on TV and bad streams for years.

Gholizadeh tore his ACL last week, so he will be out for a while.

The preliminary squad list is out and most notable admission is that Azmoun is not included in it. Last I heard the GN and fed was working over time to try to get him back in the squad (fix his issues with the gov after he made the post supporting UAE during the war).

We'll know by June 1st, as that's when the real final list comes out.
