They had the courage to protest on a world stage.

That is not our national anthem.
That is not the flag of Iran.

good to see iranian people in australia protesting outside of the team's hotel. Good job. we just have to keep the pressure on IRI as much as we can.

            Double standards.

Male TM did the same in the macht againt England an still people call them traitors.

But the female TM are victims ofcourse, just because they are women.

For me they traitors too, because they play with hijab.

Our u23 didn’t sing the anthem first match in Saudi same with the females

why are they traitors exactly? They have livelihoods and a difficult task at hand facing three superior nations whilst their hometown gets bombed to pieces

people on this forum need to realise they’re just athletes for god sake

at least by participating they raised awareness to the issues at hand. If they’d boycotted like so many people wanted them to no one on national news nor trump would’ve found out

I do think you have to put the human element into it. At that time I was one of the few who sympathized with the situation they were in. I do think that these girls are even under more scrutiny.

However when you have TM players who don’t even live in Iran right now standing silent, it bothers me. This all a scare tactic from IRGC. Has Ali KARIMI or Sasha Makanis family been killed since they became so outspoken?

They wore hijab because the islamists' rules forced them to.

The real traitors are those who enable, sympathise with and act as apologists for this islamist-occupant regime.

One of the women in Iran’s women’s national football team who had been granted asylum in Australia has changed her mind, confirms Australia’s Interior Minister Tony Burke.

By contacting the Iranian embassy, she revealed the hiding place of the other players.

During the night leading into Wednesday, the number of people in the Iranian squad who had been granted asylum was seven after another player and a staff member had been approved to stay.

A few hours later, Australia’s Interior Minister Tony Burke confirmed that one of them had changed her mind and contacted Iran’s embassy to be picked up from the secret address where the squad was staying.

“As a result, Iran’s embassy learned where everyone was. I immediately ordered that they all be moved from there, and it happened right away,” Burke said, according to the AFP news agency.

"Changed her mind" of her own volition or pressured/coerced/threatened by the regime?
