I want to officially apologizing for ever saying we should get rid of Skocic. I think we wouldn't have won any games with him in 2022 WC because his tactics were flawed for international standards. With that said, if I knew the alternative would be a few weeks of CQ and then to GN where we are now, I would beg never to fire Skocic. We'd be a middling team with decent results, not at our full potential, but we wouldn't be horrible like we are now. We fired Skocic for failure to achieve a higher level were getting accustomed to between 2014-2018, now we've regressed to the worst point I can remember for TM in my lifetime. Maybe the 2010 team was worse, but we are equally bad at the least to the worst I've ever seen from TM while I've been alive.

This is definitely a case of be careful what you wish for. I wanted Skocic gone to get a more tactically astute manager of world class standards. I didn't think we'd get GN who has no tactics and has made our team absolute losers and whipping boys. If we were in a group with Japan/Australia/Saudi, we will finish behind all of them in the current moment. We were blessed with the easy group we got for this qualification and still couldn't steal a win from Uzbekistan in any games. I honestly vote to dissolve TM before the world cup. I'd rather we not go, or hopefully Trump will ban us, it will be much better than going and being the laughing stock losing to Botswana.

FYI…. What JB did was a red card ,,, no matter how we look at it , you do that in the WC you getting a red card, they did not utilize VAR in this game , but if VAR was there he getting a straight RED, so in essence it was a red card..

look this is scary we had a game where you could have tested every single young player , all of them , look we still lost so , even if we lost it would have been amazing experience…


what ppl here don’t understand is , a team like Iran , right now , if Taremi or Ezzat are injured and can’t play in the work cup , if Ramin gets Covid and can’t play, if khalizad get injured or whoever else ,,,,,,,

we have no replacements , we have young players who are TALENTED PROJECTs that ARE UNTESTED..

in these games you test them and let them play to see where they are at and they gain experience……win or lose

that is what friendly games are for, to test players in a meaningless game… without the result actually mattering ..

you cant fucken expect hosseinajad not to play in a single game at all , not even 1 minute and helps us in the World Cup when we need a goal and he comes in and can’t score or miss his chance then everyone blames him for missing up …

it exactly like the situation with Saman Ghoddos , what CQ , see CQ made mistakes too , one of his mistakes was he did not play Saman enough and properly, that chance he missed against Portugal in Russia 2018 and against the USA at Qatar 2022 , I swear he would have scored both if he had played more ..

Iran having no replacement for their already shite out of form starting eleven is not a coach problem. This is a structural problem that can't be fixed in a couple of years either. Only on one point i disagree.

Team Melli now is much better than the 2009/2010 TM.

We need a headcoach who is actually a headcoach.

Beiravand has to go.

Shoja has to go (even he had a ok match against Russia, but he was to slow as always)

Rezaian, Cheshmi, Kaanani and all those other old overwashed players have to go.

JB with no Club shouldnt be there.

Gaehdy Mohebi Gholizadeh Hosseinzadeh

This is a regurgitated point by a lot of the older folks here, and with all due respect is so wrong.

ARJ has been clueless 18 out of the last 24 months while we have Allahyar in Belgium who is starting. Sure he gets injured often but he was ignored last season with 15 g/a under his belt. Its not debatable I'm sorry

We have a cohort of young players who can right NOW replace 3-4 starters and have a year of TM experience going into the WC.

Zare -> Shoja is a literal clear upgrade. Zare is taller, more physical, and a better passer. Maybe his long balls aren't that good? But he's 21 and can develop.

Hosseinejad -> Ghoddos is also clear. Ghoddos is so washed and recently his form is awful. There is almost nothing the guy offers anymore.

Khalife -> Beiranvand is also a clear choice. Yeah Khalife is more raw, but he's hungrier, same profile, and has potential to get better with experience. Beiro is literally checked out mentally since 2020 Belgium return.

Not to mention we can add players like Koushki who are technical and decent subs. We have some left back kids like Seifi playing for Shabab Al-Ahli in the ACL, so there is no justification for someone like Nemati to even be near the left back position.
