Until the time we have this losing mentality that one side of the bracket is easier then the other side we will keep losing. We should have playing for a win against Portugal.

I also new that Belarus is not an easy team. They are just a smaller version of the Russian team that has not participated in the wc becase of the war.

THIS IS JUst my opionon.
IF U ARE TEAM THAT has chance of wining it all but not best team then controling which side of bracket to be in is way to go.
ifthe goal is going to final and nothing else my way imo is best way. if the goal is not going to final and just want have decent tournament than thats different story.
by losing to portugal to avoid brazil in semi we gave ourself chance to go to the final.(specialy if brazil wins it all than it will validate this theory)
if goal was decent tournment and not wining it all than yes beat portugal play easier qf opponent and go lose to brazil in semi.

I do not follow beach football to know everyone on the team but apparently, there were some good players left out of the Tm for this wc, they are basically posting on Instagram saying that this is what happens when good players are left out. take this with a grain of salt.

I just looked up last year WC we beat belaus 6-1. just a year ago. what happen from last year to this year that we lost to them.

Guys, I am wondering why you believe that we lost on purpose against Portugal?

Portugal, Brazil and Russia are historically the absolute strongest teams in this sport. I actually believe it is delusional to think that we can lose "on purpose" so narrowly with 5 to 7. If you check the statistics, we had 50 attempts at goal, Portugal only 28. We simply did not make the goals.

Portugal had the better goal difference after the games against Mauritania and Paraguay compared to us and we did not have Mirshekari. I find it quite obvious why we lost.

I also doubt that Brazil is necessarily better than Portugal. As said multiple times in this thread, Brazil has lost two games against Paraguay already this year (5-3 and 5-2, not narrow games!) and not been super dominant with crazy goal differences.

Regarding Belarus:
We had three games earlier this year against Belarus in Bushehr, winning 2 (2-1, 4-2) and losing one (3-4). Taking out home advantages you could said we are pretty even. In one game/tournament format anything can happen.

In the Belarus game we had 49 attempts at goal, 13 on target with 3 goals.
Belarus had 24 attempts at goal and 6 on target, making 4 goals out of that. Thats all you need to know.

My conclusion would be that we have a very good defense (we conceded 6 goals in 6 games in the AFC cup) but there is room to improve in actually getting some goals against top-tier opponents.

Short reminder also that France did the shit show to go the easier bracket by losing on purpose against us in the last Futsal WC and became 4th finally, while we already out in Round of 16.

^^ true. But reading the news coming out of iran and the team melli, it seem everyone was talking about which bracket was going to be easier. Also we got over confident and were already talking about the final 4.

We needed to focus and take care of the games at hand and we did not. I blame the coach staff for this failure.
