When have our youth teams ever shined for this team to emulate the Same?.. our ONLY Hope in our football, club included is our senior team. And even they can’t win an Asia cup or progress to the second round !!!

Tbh if it wasn’t for Hong Kong’s miracle win against Syria we wouldn’t even have made it to the Asia cup in the first place we were odds on to get knocked out prior to that freak result

Our senior team does better because our players are exposed to foreign coaches, players and teams. From legionnaires to ACLto foreign imports in our league. Our young players live in complete iranian autarcia (except kia academy), iranians that are imcompetent past a certain level. It is also very rare to see foreigners come for u17 academies, specially in Iran.

Fixing our youth teams needs to be done by academies of outsiders such as they do in Qatar etc.

Iranians don't have the minutiae down of getting players past the basics as you see in PGL.

If one kid can do a trick freethrow thats it he might get to TM, but he cant trap a ball make a straight pass or cross....

It’s ok we have no money for our academy but we will find the extra $1 mil to bring an obese locodia over from Holland at the tail end of his career

this is what happens when we do not invest in our youth teams. Our clubs focus only on getting older players instead of giving youth the chance to play. we need to require IPL teams to have half their roster be under U23. that is the only way we will force the old farts to retire and youth into our league.

That's already a thing in IPL since 2 seasons AFAIK. It goes even beyond that I believe, requiring at least 3 U17 and 9 U23 as a part of each 26 man roster. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

We didn't invest before and had previous success in u17, we just have to accept this generation isn't good. It happens to every country even Germany. Playing u23 just for playing u23 even if they aren't good is just the other extreme
