despite having less overall points compared to Japan in the history of Asian cup, iran has a better GF and a better GA record than japan

Takeaways:
- Would have still preferred the Japan final.

- I wonder if the narrow win against UAE was due to fatigue management in the tournament, I have not seen the match, did we have a weaker team set up?

- Win against Oman in this magnitude is still impressive. Same Oman did an extremely good job in the hardest group against Brazil (3-5) and Portugal (2-3) last World Cup. Also, Japan just had some very good results against Brazil and Spain.

- Saudi Arabia is seemingly investing in Beach Soccer (Neom Cup with Spain Brazil Japan etc), they are making progress and catching up with current 2nd to 3rd tiers (last time 9th, this time 4th place)
Check their results this year, they seem to be on par with Bahrain, UAE, Oman roughly. Investing in Beach Soccer is presumably easier, I could see them rise regularly to the semis.

Brazil also seems less dominant, just looked at recent results and they're not thrashing their opponents anymore - and lost 2 times to Paraguay this year already.
Russia, who are still banned, are still good. We played some friendlies and lost all.
