Kanaani is coming back into form, and I'm generally sympathetic to older CBs (see Nader Moammadkhani in WC 1998), but Shoja has had a very noticeable drop in physical condition which is taking away all his athleticism.
Hazbavi has been poor too, and Zare seems to be getting benched at GG, so not sure what the heck we're going to do for this position.

its ridiculous, even fully benched Zare still gives more than Shoja...he's an actual liability. In this day and age all of our clubs and coaches value experience too much...all the other countries and AFC clubs are going young and athletic which is leaving us in the dust

He's not getting benched anymore, he played full 90 minutes the last 2 games, vs kheybar and Tractor. Coaching staff is just dumb for not calling him up

not the worst lineup tbh, i think it is super solid. uae game is super important, win or tie and we advance 99%. cant take anything for granted thursday. if we win hopefully we can rotate some youth vs uzbekistan but it is unlikely until we have qualification 100% wrapped up.

I dont get shoja stuff, he is experienced but makes amateur mistakes all the time.
