Well we didn't play great for sure, the conditions were not ideal either, but i am not sure about blaming it on GN. The first goal the ball goes 30 feet in the air in our own 6 yard box and not a SINGLE defender challenges for the header, second goal the defender just kicks the attacker for a PK, again not sure what GN has to do there.

GN is not the ideal candidate for this position that's for sure, but to shit on him constantly for individual mistakes is a bit too much? CQ was our coach for 8 plus years with far worst results and play style in qualification and people were defending him to the end.

Absolutely but the key is to go for the TM game against the Pot 4 team.

No one is going to watch Iran vs Honduras except Iranians and Hondurans. Even if Iran game ends up in Mexico.. Mexicans hate Honduras and will root for TM.

Its up to the coaching staff to talk to the players and demand more from them when it comes to marking their people, running back for defense, and paying more attention during set pieces. These mistakes aren't one off things, they're consistently repeated for like 2 years now because players know if they mess up they won't be benched/punished. At this point why would Shoja care about his performance? He knows he's gonna start in 2026 and ride off into the sunset no matter what.

Even if Shoja lets in 10 goals in the next 5 games, GN will still start him at the World Cup. Players don't feel the danger of getting dropped/benched.

Also I don't want to hear "We just don't have anyone who can replace Shoja so no point in going young to go young" because we absolutely do have CBs in Iran with better form like Aghasi. I'm not convinced Hazbavi or Zare would perform any worse than Shoja either, but I know that if we do play them people here would be like "look this youth player made 1 mistake, this is evidence that he is not cut out for it, lets go back to Shoja immediately" while completely ignoring that Shoja/Kanaani have been making deadly mistakes all year long.

PAG i believe has only recently started playing first team football again after a very long time out.

Sadegh Moharrami underwent surgery for ACL in Feb i believe so i dont think we will see him untill next year
