Honestly his thinking behind subs is get the 1. oldest players (the older the more “experienced” in his eyes) and 2. the most physical guys (height and weight). This is why we see guys like Moghanlou Asadi before and Cheshmi.

His mindset is so bad. Anytime something goes wrong he brings in players to hold the score at hand.What he doesn’t realize is he is putting the team at more of a risk for failure with those subs. GNs subs aside, our players are so weak and fragile mentally. Any time we get scored on or get a red card we just play so broken.

You are talking about Iran right now. The reporters are pure garbage who have the job as a way of being paparazzi not actualy hardhitting questions.

Before the revolution, it was same but nowadays if you ask a hardhitting question you run the risk of being an enemy of nezam.

If anything players would focus more there because "it's a harder group".

GN needs to either whip the players or leave and bring in an authoritarian.

We sacked Skocic for much less than this. He lost to SK with our B team and lost a friendly to Algeria testing youth.

Teams we've conceded against with GN: Kenya, Afghanistan, Syria, Palestine, Hong Kong, North Korea, Kyrgyzstan.

Sooooooo ....what's the plan when we face Spain in WC? France? Argentina? Portugal? Germany? England? Any CONMEBOL team? USA? Morocco? Algeria?

And what did we do against England with CQ? You guys keep thinking it's only a coaching problem when the main issues are A) political and B) Fundamental which goes back to politics. We will never make that leap and forward step in world football until we resolve the root issues. We could bring any world class coach and although it will help to bring organization and strategy to how we approach games (most will not step foot in Iran due to again, POLITICS!), we'd still be getting knocked out of group stage in the WC.

CQ is undoubtly a better manager than GN but his strategy was to park the bus and rely on prayers from counter attacks against better teams. We never really had a chance to beat Argentia, Spain or Portugal in the games we played well and got respectable results. Not to mention the most important games in which we fell short with him against beatable teams like Bosnia (2014), and the U.S. (2022) to advance from the group stage for the first time.

Was Skocic better than GN? or did he just have luxury of the players being younger and many of them playing at higher level? of course GN deserves all the criticism but he is getting these player when they are past their best days.

Milad had a good game but what he highlights is how slow everyone else in the team is. They look and act old. Sardar dropping back to play the false nine looked good. Taremi is in a funk and needs to get a couple of goals back at Inter. JB’s tougher mentality and physical play was missed in this match. Our CBs are too slow and too short and have little sense of organizing and marking. They are playing a narrow zone formation and opposite guys are showing up wide open all the time on all the crosses that our guys fail to clear.

The mental drop in the 2nd half is psychological. Our players take it easy and think they're better than our opponents.

I was also against the firing of Skocic and I havnt Been a GN hater or anything. I gave him my support as I Will with any coach. But there is nothing to say anymore. We wont survive this World cup like this. We have absolutely no tactics and no structure. Our players have lost ALL their proffesionalism that they learned during CQ times.
