Do you get enjoyment from seeing TM collapse every other game? Or do you lack the foresight to see that playing like this means a quick WC exit and awful performance at AC? What's the point of winning now and losing later?

Genuinely asking because too many people are constantly making excuses for these performances under GN which makes absolutely no sense. It's a CLEAR regression from even just 3-4 years ago.

This team is capable of so much more with some decent game management and proper defensive transitions.

It's not too late man....we have 2 years left if we bring in a more competent foreign coach. GN was never supposed to be here this long, he was a stop gap solution after CQ.

How did I make excuses? I am just saying, it is what it is and we got the result. I want a Jurgen Klopp instead of a GN. I want a half decent democracy in Iran instead of theocracy. I want us to focus on developing players from k-9 and to have a real high school and college path for boys and girls. I want a lot of things, but it is what it is. There is no sense in whining about things that are not under your control. Until you have the power to change the systemic and fundamental issues, there is no point in even discussing any of this. GN is not even the best coach we have in Iran right now, but he acts cool with the Gov. and doesn't speak up so he gets the job.

I don't know how old you are but I didn't start watching TM since 2018 or anything. We've always been our own worst enemy (post revolution) and it's never been about the players. It's always been the broken youth system, politics, federation, etc. so just sit back and enjoy the positive side of the game & khoone khodeto kasif nakon.

From our starting line up today, only 2 players play in Europe, Taremi (Inter) and Mohebi (Rostov), rest are in the Middle East!

it wasnt long ago that we would have at least 7 players from the starting 11 playing in Europe...

This epitomizes the ongoing issue with TM that I've observed in their gameplay. Winning seems to suffice, regardless of the method. Taremi's indifferent demeanor during the penalty kick suggested a lack of concern. Such players ought to be expelled from TM permanently. Our team faces significant challenges, and while we may qualify for the World Cup from arguably the weakest Asian group to date, it's not indicative of success. Considering the current level of play and attitude, I would rank this team below Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Australia. As with previous World Cups, I anticipate an early exit.

The only upside of this shitshow is that I got to watch a TM with my mom for the first time since the 2018 game against Morocco.

Shoja is not the best we have. He's not even best CB at tractor, it's Aghasi.

He's literally slow, mistake prone, and always cramping with a bad attitude going 36 years old.

Literally 0 upsides in playing him over a younger player.

Zare who has also been a stud in league (21 years old) got dropped along with Saharkhizan so there's that too

OK, Hardani handicapped us agsinst Uzbekistan and now Shoja crippled us against N Korea. And unlike the Uzbekistan game, the team completely fell apart after the send off.

I have also said that Shoja is too old and will be even more accident prone in two years time. GN will pay dearly for not introducing younger players such as Hazbavi.

Such a great first half performance turned out to be a nightmare scare in the second.

This team needs a ton of work to be ready at the WC and now I don’t see the stubborn GN getting the job done.

For this game this javad bisavad GN will just blame it on the red card and get away with the excuse . This will probably be the worst World Cup in Iran’s history …
