IMO, Hosseinnejad’s technical ability is way superior. But if he wants to succeed in Europe, he needs to pack on some serious size and muscle. Also people look at Ezzie now and are disappointed, but you can’t not forget the type of talent that guy was. At that stage he was way further ahead than Javad. He just never developed. I could argue that no Iranian footballer was as good as Ezzie a when they were 17 years old.

Lets hope Uzbekistan didnt take it easy to avoid japan.....Originally posted by Artaxerxes View Post
Will we face Korea if japan dosent beat them?
Hope for japan beating korea.
....
Imo this is best u20/19 team since 1976.
Its sad to have this cluster f. Draw.
Afc does this on purpose to give 1 arab team chance to go to wc.

Thats the spiritOriginally posted by arj42 View PostWe will beat Korea or Japan, doesn’t matter who it is. Problem is we are gonna lose in semi final no matter what
We should throw everything at them.
If we win we qualify to the U20 World cup. Could not care less what happens in Semis and beyond if only for pride

This team is special and could go far.
Let's assume we advance to semi (cluster f. Draw it be very hard to do that.)
We play the winner of Australia vs Iraq.
Australia dominated its group but Iraq are cockroaches in these u tournaments.
But I think Australia will win and that's perfect for us since we have no luck with Iraq and they just become crazy team vs us.
Road to final
Beat Uzbekistan defending champ
Beat Korea or Japan
Beat Australia
And final
Beat Japan or Korea or uzb or China
KSA HAS NO CHANCE GO TO FINAL
NOT PLAYING A SINGLE AFC DARLINGS ARAB TEAMS can bring the trophy back to Tehran for first time since 1976, LAST TIME TM WON SENIOR AC WAS 76 TOO.

For those who don't know, a lot of our U20 players have been playing in PGPL pretty much all season besides a few of them. IMO one of the best things to happen because they are all in form since they're getting play time in tournaments like Hazfi cup, etc with senior teams.
Even in Persepolis, Yaghoub Barajeh was starting to be given time to by Garrido before he got fired lol

Agree. The best thing for a kid that age is to just play regularly!Originally posted by Pluto2000 View PostFor those who don't know, a lot of our U20 players have been playing in PGPL pretty much all season besides a few of them. The league has tried to push more mandatory youth spots on clubs but they get pissed

I think the best solution is to create financial incentives for clubs to do it. I think ultimately we gotta create a U17-U23 youth league so clubs can participate their teams in it and make $$$.Originally posted by Nokhodi View Post

Very unlikely.Originally posted by fairplay View PostWhy there was so many posts on YouTube saying Iran is using overage players? Is there any truth to this?
They just look older, especially compare to East Asian countries.
Most of these kids were in U-17 World Cup as well, so nothing has really changed.
And as we all know YouTube comments are always a reliable source!
