Iran vs. Uzbekistan Oct. 10th WCQ Match Thread

As you have most probably read through this thread 99.9% of Iranians are unhappy about tue recent performance of TM. Although what really amazed me was that upon Iran player's ejection from the game, the game flow gradually shifted to TM's dominance and Uzbekistan couldn't capitalize on the golden opportunity to press Iran and score a goal. Totally seemed like the Uzbeks were fully content with a home draw.

On a side note, I am interested to hear our opponent fan's take on the penalty kick being called off

For me it was more likely a penalty than not. Probably the short distance made the ref to call it off.
In general, Iran's red card spoiled the game, for both sides. It was unnecessary (but fair) and not needed. Now psychological pressure on players is higher than if we would have lost 11 vs 11.

I don’t think that can happen anymore. As soon as FIFA/AFC sees his name they will inform IFF that he is suspended.

GN’s biggest achievement in his tenure so far is beating Japan. Now, looking back it really was moreso because of the hunger & desire of the players.

When he played Omid as a DM, it wasn’t a genius move. He did it out of necessity because Taremi was out. The long ball tactic only worked because the Japanese lack good aerial defense.

Overall, his games have lacked consistency, offensive fluidity, and defensive organization.

He’s had plenty of opportunites to incorporate players like hosseinnejad and allahyar, and to help set up younger players for the future. He has failed.

We actually might play better against Qatar because they want to avenge their semifinal loss. However, it’d go back to the players’ hunger and desire. Nothing to do with GN tactics.

Tm w/o taremi players give extra effort.
Sardar is different when medi is not there, players always respect sardar more than medi.

We acting like Saharkhizan is worse than Moghanlou or something....One of them has 5 G/A in Russian league in 10 games and the other only has 1 penalty goal in 9 games.

Its not a case of going young just to go young...some of our youth are clearly better than some players in some positions. I mean Hosseinzadeh is leading PGPL in goals right now, surely you would want him subbed in over Moghanlou since he only has 1 goal for TM in 10 caps lol


Also no one cares about TM 20th place ranking when deciding to come to PGPL, its our clubs offering them outlandish money like Sepahan giving all their foreigners millions

These young players get destroy in general system. They just disappear.
I am not saying this because i am cq fan. But in cq system ,since it was actual system it was easy to insert new players in .
Yes hezbavi,j.h should start. And sahar khizan should be 1st forward sub in, IF YOUR COACH IS NOT GENERAL.

Being top 20 really helps to stay on the map in world soccer. Of course is the money first but it dont hurt at all when negotiating thats great pitch to attract them.

team Melli talk with video with new guest who I loved listening too. He had very balanced opinions and was not biased. I recommend you guys listen to what Mr. Foroughi was saying. Nice analysis. However, he is still raw for team Melli social media. First we have to teach him how to blame anything and everything on GN no matter what happens and also vouch for 14 year olds to start every game. Hope to see him again on more podcasts

Fifa ranking is important,
One of the reason all these good players came to pgl is tm top 20 ranking.

We should not just bring players for a heck of it.
IF SYSTEM IS GOOD IS easy to inser t new player in. When a system is bad it's disaster.
None of our youngster can do jack under general system...just eaxample .so if we have to bring likes of v.amiri
Back to tm so tm have better chance to advance from the group in wc let it be.

I think GN got his tactics right.
I even think Moghanlou was a good sub and did what he was supposed to do well.

What's killing us is that our best players aren't at their best. GN won't risk young players until qualification is certain. It's lose lose in his eyes.
A guy like Bagheri needs to be on the team to instill discipline and control players mentally.

Next game will be our hardest game.

Again the VAR cut our heads. I guess the machine or the refs there just don't like us. The obvious hand was not seen by the VAR? or is this just a way to win or not loose games? yeah for sure remember Qatar??? I hope we go back to real football with real referees. This is just not worth watching anymore.

Pk on sardar was legit too.
He held sardar back from behind while sardar has ball and moving forward...THE BS OF HE DIDNT HELD HIM LoNG ENOUGH IS EVEN MORE FUNNY..

I WAS surprise the refs was calling 50/50 calls for tm , I guess he was giving those so he is Ble to cut neck whenever he wish....

I watched the whole game just now! I guess the comments are very harsh!
We didn't play bad game at all! There were quite positive points :
1. Nemati didn't look out of place at all for his first cap! Playing almost a half 10 men game!
2. Saeid was solid, too bad this guy doesn't move his feet otherwise he would have been world class!
3. Shoja and Milad had decent game

Weak points:
1. Sardar was totally out of shape! Wtf man!!
2. Taremi invisible, quite disappointed at him!
3. Jahanbakhsh passes were totally off! Lack of club was obvious in his game!
4. Mohebbi was not fit either, just came back from injury!


Even with 10 men we were providing chances tbh!
Team still has long way to go but we were always a team relying on set pieces + Taremi & Sardar combo!
With Sardar fat ass and Taremi aging we are losing this advantage obviously!

We drew Turkmenistan away with CQ

Not defending Gn and I want him gone but really things were still much worse in 2010-2013 era

and we were lucky to beat Uzbekistan away with that goal across the line - very lucky in deed

From after the Asian cup to 96- WC98. Daie, Bagheri, Azizi, Mahdavikia, pashazadeh, Minavand, khakpour, Abedzadeh, Etc.

This team had the WORST consistency and terrible defense. We kept losing games we should have won, and finally won a game we should have lost badly.

To make everything worse, we had a new coach every few months.

We have never had a worse performing team with the talent available.

This is when TM fans developed bums of steel. Newer fans would not be able to keep their undies clean for one game from that team.
