Can't believe the level we have reached in football where we are wishing not to loose to UAE. Do we deserve to be in the WC?

The team we will see vs UAE will be very different than what we got against Kyrgyzstan.
The team will take the game much more seriously for many reasons(esp the lashing they got). Much higher motivation and will be more physical.
Don't know if it will translate into 3 points but it makes it much more likely. Azmoun will be looking to score!

Norafkan defensively was solid.
Lone goal was created by him
And he hit the post.
Saeed over him any day.
But he earned his roster spot on a 25 man roster.

I dont agree on this regarding his athletic, there are tons of DM who are not built even at world stage! Even in Iran we had like Estili, Ebrahimi and many others in this position who were not built!Originally posted by Nokhodi View Post
his offensive stats are ok. It's his defense and lack of athleticism for today's football I'm concerned about.
he would have made a great midfielder in 1993.
Plus per wiki he is 184 cm! Far from being short or anything
He is not very fast bur compare to Saeid, well he is lol
I still rather have in shape saeid over him because of better physical presence!
The guy however is an idiot to have wasted his career in Iran! He can easy play in some 2nd/ 3rd rated leagues in Europe but he clearly said money is his priority

What's so funny to me is how GN subbed in Alireza who has only played 80 minutes of club football in 2024 into the game and not Allahyar who is one of the leading goalscorers of Belgian league.
Red herring to me, a bit like England's Southgate. Play favorites instead of players best fit at the moment

Missed the match but the post-mortem from everyone is painful to read.
I guess I'm glad I missed it as I see the result and am grateful for the 3 points.
If we qualify it will be in spite of GN rather than because of him.
I struggle to understand why some our younger legionnaires were not invited but then all roads lead back to GN.
I'll take a draw away to UAE and 4 points from the opening two matches.

I just evaluated us versus UAE. No other remarks for now. But after the UAE game let's come back and see what happened.Originally posted by mbaizai View Post
Ya but does that also mean if UAE plays Australia or saudi or Jordan they they will win? Everyone had a bad day however we got the 3 points

That's the major reason I say they are favorable to win because they have the refs to their benefit.Originally posted by perspolis#1 View Post
I watched the whole Qatar-UAE game and will write up an analysis in the match thread, but I will say UAE got a fishy favorable call by VAR that took away a Qatar penalty for a handball when the score was 1-1

Well let's see thenOriginally posted by Super Shojaei View Post
last time we played UAE the officials made a tight offside call in our favour which would have changed the whole match.
Qatar had no officials helping them and they got hammered 3-1
Saudi with their billions tied 6th seed Indonesia 1-1 at HOME
I just don't see the corrupt calls here so far at least. If anything In the Asian cup we should've had at least one red card v Hong Kong

Exactly. Kojo we easily put him on skates on two occasions, and his defensive awareness/positioning is horrible. IIRC in the Skocic era his defensive positioning cost us a few goals.Originally posted by Nokhodi View Post

For anyone who actually watched the game instead of highlights, Noorafkan looked like he was running with hangover from two servings of koobideh.
All game when he got the ball he just either spammed a long shot, passed it back, or lost it lol.

In day Ghoddos waa totally out of shape he had a quite decent day!
One match but people understand why most coaches like this guy! He is all over!

They beat two times Asian champions Qatar 3-1 and we barely beat KGZ which has almost never won anything in Asia and is considered a third rated team in Asia. This means put aside your dogma and see the facts.
