Unrelated but I'm watching Mexico vs USA Nations League final right now and I gotta say for all the hate we give our team melli, we are so much better than 99% of CONCACAF. Mexico, Panama, and Jamaica all play like garbage. We would have totally beat USA if our boys weren't being beat down by politicsComment

This is it bud, we don't have plYers in some unknown universe that genwral dont call up.
For wc if team is young it helps since recovery is a b.... for persian players. Imo number 2 reason lost qatar plying syria,japan and qatar in 7 calendar days, that's less than 72 hrs rest on average per match .Comment

Guys, I'm sorry we are not beating the US now.
Maybe we had a chance in the World cup but our squad is falling and in transition and theirs is young and steady.
Their strong points negate ours. Their LB Antonee Robinson is faster than any of our RBs and plays for Fulham. Their CBs are speedy and physical.
Their midfield is all in Europe. McKennie, Musah, Adams now would wreck our midfield of Ezatolahi. Ghoddos would need to have a God Tier game.
Besides that, Kanaani etc would get smoked by Weah, Reyna, Pulisic interplay.
Our team struggles heavily against pacey teams that press.
Mexico and Canada are far easier for us. Mexico marginally has better technique on the ball but if we can beat Japan we can beat them.
Same tactics to be physical and beat them on height and physicalityComment

Definitely not the US of now, but we sure as hell would be competitive in CONCACAF. Mexican team of last night would wish they had a player with half the technique and pace of Gholizadeh/Ghaedi
. The day we learn to have a good defensive transition while keeping our current attack is the day we go to r16 in my opinion. Uzbekistan B team also tied them last year. IMO overall level of AFC is higher than CONCACAF.
