SK won their first game against us in 17 years in the Wcq for Qatar 2022, how have they dominated us? We also have a superior record against them whit 13 wins vs 11 wins and 9 draws.

And against Japan its even steven whit 6 wins for both sides and 6 draws.

Speed, discipline, know to play collective and with a beautiful passing

I do not agree at all. I remember ONE good attacking game under CQ, that was against S.Korea in Tehran during 2018WCQ. Iran was attacking for 90 min and should have won with 3,4,5 goals. Nazashtim nafas bekeshan.

I remember thinking after the game that perhaps CQ adam shode…Turns out it was just one game and he reverted back to his usual bs after that.

I think there are a couple of members who just don't really follow football so aren't aware of the gap now compared to what it was just a short while ago, even in mid-2022 in Korea's case

I know Mashsaaed is aware but some of the "we will win it" crew think we are still in 2017

well, that is part of the transition. Right now TM is the oldest team in AC 2024!!. This tournament will come and go, at what point are we going to start the youth transition for the 2026 WC?

But the dynamics of football in the continent have changed, literally over 12 months

14 months ago, Korea's transfermarkt value was fractionally less than ours, now they are four times ours with two top strikers in the premier league, best defender 2022/2023 in serie A etc...? We are talking about equals to a nation which has stars all over the pitch now.

I won't even mention Japan because anyone following european club football and their national team's run of wins knows what's going on.

Winning the Asian cup is of course possible, but it isn't realistic. Reaching the semi-final would be a success and if that happens mark my words he will get 2026 world cup (bookmark the post)

Yes, only in this case should the contract be extended. It is his 2nd try as well in the AC, no excuses not to win it.

We are our own worst enemy. Even if we win in a dominant fashion until the quarters, we will get a rude awakening against a team like South Korea.

We should temper our expectations until the quarters, since that’s when the tournament really begins.

This is the tournament for our players with vast European experience (Taremi, Azmoun, ARJ, Ghoddos) to really step up. Unfortunately, I think our defense will be our downfall, but I hope I’m wrong.

The only way this team will have enough legs until the final, is if GN plays a mixture of A & B players in the group stage. I don’t care if we squeak through, playing the long game is more important.
