there is no friendly for tm . Next 2 games in June, with his real list, is still a honeymoon stage to find the 11 he likes to suit his style, BUT STILL CAN NOT LOSE. The games after June fifa days, honeymoon IS OVER, then we shall see and start judging the team. I watched the replay of yesterday game and yes u are right system has changed and so far so good. Kenya was out muscling us, and their physical superioty gave hard time to our players. Only team even close to Kenya physique in Asian cup will be oman.so far so good.

Success is now only in qualifying to R16.
Bosnia team was good but very beatable. Problem was our dear coach only used 15-16 players during the WC. If you look at the game vs Bosnia our team was out of stamina after 10 min.
What was the point of leaving out Khalatbari etc & bringing 10 defenders if you were not going to use them?
He could have brought at least 1 or 2 more attacking players who would have been very useful against Bosnia (where we needed a win).
Delusional? Give me a break.
Expecting Iran to qualify for R16 is nothing in comparison to Morocco reaching SF, Costa Rica reaching QF in group of death or even war-torn Iraq winning an AC.
My friend everything from his player selection & game plan made it very obvious CQ went to Brazil not to lose.
A defeatist attitude which cost us dearly in the end.
Nigeria was nowhere near the Nigeria of 1994,1998,2002 or even 2010 WC.
I thought it was obvious i meant nobody cares about WCQ as long as you qualify for the WC.
Maybe i wasn't clear enough.
It's very relevant in highlighting how meaningless WCQ is in comparison to the final tournament.
Yup CQ player selection and rotation could have been better during 2014, I agree. That would for sure have given us a better chance….but even then, I’m not sure it would = advancing to the next round. We will never know, but it’s a stretch to say that it absolutely would lead to better outcomes.
and yes it is delusional to look at that Bosnia team where one player alone (dzeko) had a higher value than the entire 23 man roster of Iran as being on a similar level to us. That’s just silly.
you’re literally proving my point and your delusion by bringing up Costa Rica in QFs and Morocco in Semis…..which one of the fans bases expected their teams to make it there? I can answer that for you….none! It was a stretch goal and they worked hard and got it, if they didn’t get it nobody would look at their team and say “you failed”.
you can dislike CQ’s tactics, you can dislike his player selections….again, I had my bones to pick with him, esp not having a grip on persona’s during 2019 AC….personally, I think after the very poor behavior of the team and them running up to the officials and getting in their face during the Morocco and Spain games that CQ should have lit his boys on fire for behaving like animals and he didn’t and that’s what lead to their lack of focus in 2019, it wasn’t the game plan that let him down.
anyhow….what is not up for interpretation and why I keep calling what you’re doing here as trolling is because you’re no acknowledging:
- normalizing qualifying for the WC and the value that has had for us as a footballing nation, despite all the short comings of the country and our footballing system (or lack there of)
- finishing top of the group and regularly beating an arch rival/fellow Asian giant
even Hadi Aghily, who was ousted by CQ, is able to admit the positive impacts he has had on our football and we were lucky to have him. If a guy like that who has all the reason in the world to be sour towards CQ, a fan with an attacking tactical preference should be able to do the same.Team Meli Iran

1 player of England or Italy 2014 WC squad was probably worth more than the entire Costa Rica squad as well. Costa Rica didn’t give a shit and won the group which also included Uruguay.
His gameplan in 2019 AC 100% was to blame for our failure.
He overestimated a weak Japan side & our players suddenly started playing defensive when we had been playing pretty well against Oman & China just prior to that game.
You keep repeating the WCQ…It’s getting tiresome man.

Nourafkan will definitely be big part of GNs team. I still believe we should start ghoddos every game either as Center mid or right behind the strikers. Ghoddos is by far irans most talented player.Originally posted by oracle View Post
I think notafkan was good next to Saeed against russia...he also subed in for Ehsan.
norafkan will be big part of general team.

Acm would be perfect.
if u recall the Uruguay game
It was him who started the creation of the goal.
Galenoie is looking for a 8 and he is it.
and he has paid his dues
He deserves starting role.
