If I was coach (we would prob lose AC in group stage ) here is the 23 man squad I would take to AC with me (Assuming injured players like AS and Gholi are in form by January) :



Experienced starting 11 with young and pacy back up players who are ready for call up to TM. I know players like Ghaedi are very controversial but I feel like he is better served in a Taremi role (where he has some free roaming around wings) and not striker role where Arab clubs like to play him.

Godos should of started every match since 2018..what a shame.

At this point we should even move past Ghoddos unfortunately unless he makes a serious effort to get regular playing time and wants to be the Modric to our 2026 campaign.

We need new blood. Everyone 29 or above not named Mehdi Taremi should be trialled to stay on the team. And anyone who will be above the age of 34 by 2026 definitely shouldnt be on the team. A country with thousands of years of nation state planning should do better planning 4 year cycles of football.

A mostly PGL team should be able to get out of the Asian Cup group stage and give Qatar/Iraq etc a good fight and win also. Let them get their experience now, we might even get lucky and go deep and upset the other Asian giants

We should go all out in ac and give cq players last chance for glory...after ac Then can do what u say...only 4 months away.

Our problem enemies will always will be Japan and South Korea. East Asian teams are simply too speedy in midfield and wings for people like Haj Safi to handle. Our beating them depends on if we can put Jalali at left back imo. I just can't see us winning against those teams with Haj Safi at LB. That position is also why we lost to the US at world cup, Dest kept overpowering Milad and eventually made a good cross past Milad to Pulisic.

It would be a CRIME not to start Salmani and Rostami in midfield especially when the second is starting to get good minutes in Poland first league top 4 teams at only 19. Hazbavi too at CB over Kanaani, how many goals does the kid need to score in champions league at club level until he gets called up?

Can invite all these players held camp durring
fifa days ....thats classic way changing team melli from old to young eventually....tm iran will never go all young ONLY HC EVER DID THAT WAS MOHAMAD MYLIKOHAN because he didn't care if he got fired...

Tbf I'm not saying go 100% young. Just midfield and left back . That's 3 players that would make tremendous difference in team melli. Jalali/Salmani/Rostami. The last one is still raw but him and hazbavi are easily the most talented of our youngest players

I been big fan of salmani ...think of him of next Ali karimi but he got hyped up real fast lost his motivation and injury didn't help either....he came to pp which Yahya is worst hc to give young players chance BUT HE WILL GET 10 TO 15 MINUTES to show case himself and if he plays well he can bench soroush rafie.....salmani will not be on 25 man roster for ac24 but he will definitely

Hazbavi is definitely better than Shoja. Maybe not starter but he should be our backup CB. He was starter in Foolad and he has champions league experience already, scoring multiple goals against top Arab clubs. Shoja is almost 35 years old, he shouldn't even be part of conversation or in the squad, especially when we have Aghasi/PAG

Very much agree. I will say though Aghasi has been a bit of a let down for me in the opening few games of the season for TS in both league and ACL qualifier

That should be our CB pairing till 2026 ideally, maybe Fallah for PAG if he comes in nicely. Though I haven't been following Fallah so idk if he's fallen off like other prospective TM U23 players

I was disappointed by Fallah and Aghasi lately. One at waff u23 and the other recently in league/acl. I don't expect them to be Beckenbauer prime and Fallah was maybe injured but still. they made several amateur mistakes that should disqualified them, at least temporarily
