Good. Let Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, and Egypt also join AFC. And in return AFC can request more qualification spots from FIFA. We need to play against real competition to become a top team. If we're scared of third-tier European teams, Salah and a bunch of Abdullahs and Mohammads, or a bunch of simit-eaters, then we should not go to the WC. Enough with this loser and rahat-talab mentality.

Israel was kicked out of AFC. They have no chance of returning to AFC, there are many countries in Asia who do not recognize Israel as a country: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Yemen, Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, North Korea.Originally posted by Iran_19 View PostIn perfect world Turkey, Israel, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan should join AFC.
Israeli was actually part pf AFC till early 70s.

I welcome return of Kazakhstan to AFC, also the following to join AFC: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Cyprus, Russia, New Zealand, Egypt.
I do not want Turkey as AFC member. They are too strong for AFC and will qualify for every World Cup.

If Russia joins AFC, I hope for sub-region they join CAFA and not EAFF!
CAFA which was my idea that successfully was suggested to Iran and Afghanistan to create such a sub-region federation, at that time in my suggestion I put 6 countries which are the current members. Now after 7 years of CAFA, I believe that the time is right for expansion so I welcome Russia, Pakistan and Mongolia should they decide to join CAFA.
If in the future Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia and Kazakhstan join AFC, I would welcome if they join CAFA for sub-region.

I still don't get how Kazakhstan could get so arrogant to join UEFA. They get trashed since and have no chance of qualifying for anything. Not even as an AFC member they could qualify for the WC, hala raftan vase ma Urupa, guz shodan. The only team that is strong enough to compete with world class teams is Turkey, not Armenia, Azerbaijan or Georgia. Those teams are weaker than the likes of Luxembourg.

Then this wouldn't be too much of an inconvenience for Iran, especially since this would be more disadvantageous for the Far Eastern teams. I think it's the time zone difference that affects the players more than the distance. And having more better teams would improve every other team in the same group due to experience. A team doesn't learn much from playing against easier teams. That results mostly to overconfidence, which leads to getting embarrassed at the World Cup.Originally posted by EZLN View PostMoscow is only 30 minutes behind Iran Time
I think I remember hearing that they were upset with the officiating. And I heard that they joined UEFA because UEFA had more spots available in the World Cup. (I don't know if this is really the reason). Still, it was a mistake for Kazakhstan to assume that would increase their chances. It made sense when Australia joined the AFC because the OFC's spot in the World Cup is extremely low.Originally posted by Arman2 View PostI still don't get how Kazakhstan could get so arrogant to join UEFA. Turkey is actually a good team. They'd provide valuable experience that the other Asian teams need to have more often.Originally posted by The View PostAbsolutely the fuck not. Russia only claim to Asia because of 18th and 19th century imperialism
much rather have Turkey, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Azerbaijan than Russia
If you dislike Russia then wouldn't defeating that team be satisfying? Rivalry games are fun to watch.

Kazakhstan Russians were behind joining UEFA and also are blocking Kazakhstan's return to AFC. Most ethnic Kazakhs want return to AFC.Originally posted by Arman2 View PostI still don't get how Kazakhstan could get so arrogant to join UEFA. It's interesting how much power they still have over Kazakhstan. There were more Russians in that country than Kazakhs before the 1980s. Many Russians began to leave during the late 1970s. By the 1980s, the Kazakhs began to outnumber the Russians there, although not yet the majority due to the other ethnicities. The Kazakhs had already become the majority in that country by the time they joined UEFA in 2002. Although the Kazakhs made up 70.4% and the Russians made up 15.5% of the Kazakhstanis last year, Russian is still one of the official languages of Kazakhstan.Originally posted by Rooyintan View Post

It's different with Uzbekistan. The Russians never outnumbered the Uzbeks in Uzbekistan. According to an Uzbek I know, Russian ceased to be taught in a lot of the schools there. (Wikipedia doesn't mention this for some reason). She felt like a foreigner when with the younger Uzbeks because she only learned Russian in school and the younger Uzbeks didn't. She learned English and Korean later on. She's actually more fluent in Korean than English now because she has been staying in Korea for a long time.
