    RIP Karim Bavi

Former TM striker Karim Bavi passed away at age of 58 after dealing 2 years with cancer.
Bavi became handicap during the war and one of his foot was few centimeters shorter than another one.
He was with Daei our best striker on air and even Daei praised him and said Bavi was even better than me on air.
He scored majority of his goals off the header.
He was a true gentleman, shy, and down to earth, i i have met him twice after Persepolis game.
He was suffering financially, our fcuk up federation and even Persepolis didn't even bother to ask how he is doing.

He was crucial on AC88, and was part of rebuild process initiated by Dehdari when over 10 stars refused to play for him and he invited like Abedzadeh, Namjoo, Zarincheh, N Mohammakhani, Moharrami, Pious, Bavi, Sarkhab, Abtahi, etc which well served our football for over decade.

He defended our land off the pitch and was decent striker on the field.
10 goals in 20 something games(remember back to the time there were not much friendly games around, as many old timers had around 20 to 30-40 caps max)

    RIP Bavi.

There used to be a saying among Team Melli fans "If Zarincheh's cross reaches Bavi's head then it will be a goal".

Agar santre Zarincheh be sare Bavi berese gole.

I can't remember which player or coach mentioned the below statement, ( Probably Daei)
In german football academies back in the day they used to show footages of his headers as the proper way of positioning and lifting off the ground and heading the ball, to the managers and young players

even up until today, any Iranian footballer have heard of his name as a footballing legend, with world class head strikes!
I didn't know he was a war hero! thank you for reporting his news and writing a shot biography for him!
Rest in peace, champion of our nation!

I seen him play in person .
tehran Alef vs khorasan in providence league.
              bam 2 headers 2 goals
              First 20 minutes.
even though he was from khozestan
he choosed tehran as his choice as of team,
like abedzadeh was from khozestan, he played for isfehan.
he was so poor ,he used to play with SHOES CALLED katoni , he said since he never played with real soccer shoes he learned to scored with his head..(people who leaved in iran in the 80s , know what am talking about.)
bavi and morteza yekeh where the craziest due
a soccer team can have , I can say Shahin had greatest
air attack in iran football history...
              when he came to persepolis
              Pp fans chant of
              Bavi Sar talie sarvareh tajiyaeeeeee
              Is classic.
It's truely sad day to see him passed away,,
and I expect pp to go and beat ss in the derby
              For bavi.
may God bless his soul and rest in peace and go to heaven.
