that's the reason I said I think you are mixing up two things here. 1) "fundamental" aspect of Fan and social support for "any sports" in a society, 2) what fan support role is on the team in respect to wins and losses in a game or tournament.

these are two different issues. How can I ignore the role of society (THE FANS) in the progress of sports in that society? I kept saying in my prvious posts, IT STARTS WITH PEOPLE ( refering to the fundamental role), not the role you and I have on how Iran wins or looses to Mexico, we have no role there.

Branko should have put Nikbakht on the STAND-BY list........and that would have been a strong message and motivator for nikbakht.

Yes I can give you example and that is why I trust Branko so much despite seeing the problems. The clear examples are Asian Games and Asian Cup. Same hoopla surrounding Branko and we saw what he did. I know you are gonna complaint that this is WC not Yaman & Bangladesh, but that is NOT the point. The point is he is capabale of seeing the problem areas and FIX them. He did that before, he will do it again.

Let me actually share with you my perspective on the issue in a broader view, as we have been in two sides of this for so long while sharing the same concerns in many areas.

When I see a "problem" with TM as an average fan, I am confident Branko sees it better than me. Not because I am a PFDC staff and supporting our friend , but because I have got to know him for many years and I know his level of "education" AND "intelligence" (as a side note, in Iran, one or the other one of these two ingredients is missing from all of our coaches and that is what it takes to be a good coach). If I see an inch, he sees miles! Why? Because of his education, and because of his track record. I know what it takes to get PhD in a field, and for him, these matters that we discuss are trivial!

We dig for so long to see something in the game that he has seen it comfortably. Then, as I trust him for what he has done in the past, I know he not only knows the problems that we "average fans" see, he is way ahead of us in solving it. How? and has there been any sign? NO. Has he had the time? NO. I am sorry but I don't take those few days of gathering (for friendlies or WC qualifiers) the days of "miracle" from above. Anyone ever involved in "real" training knows football takes more than few days to prepare (just see how long it is taking Haan to change Perspolis). He is gonna work on the areas AS HE DID TWICE and fix what he believes is the "problem" in one month of work AND during the competition. To go further than that, if he doesn't believe it is a problem, then I believe him more than myself as to already explained why. I have said this many times; This is when I ask myself that simple question: Is it him OR is it me?

I know one thing: When we are getting ready for a major competition, there is no one else in Iran that I trust more than him. He is not only smart, but very sneaky and I emphasise that. HE WILL NOT REVEAL what he has in his mind till game time. You know what? I think he was even BSing us about the use of 2 defensive midfielders and 4-2-3-1 as he is not a type to reveal his plans. He was just sending the wrong info to the media to cross the wrong plan to the other sides. He has ALWAYS done that ever since I have known him.

I know you don't see him the way I said and I see him, and you don't have to bother with a long one to explain, as by now, I already know your answer to each part, but I just wanted you to see why I see it differently and how I see.



If your example fits the scenario, of course not. But I don't see it that way at all. I see two teams close in style and level, heading into the field. Mexico even has MORE problems that Iran does. AND I believe in positive energy. For some reason in my life, whenever I have stayed positive, positives have happenned (and yes not all the time to complete satisfaction), and whenever I have stayed negative, negatives have happened (and yes ALL the time to the point of failure)! We must send positive energy to our boys and believe me, that is 50% of the task because of the close level these two teams have.

You could be as positive as you can be as Bangladesh football fan, but it aint gonna happen! But this is not the Peykan with "roodeh moodeh biroon", these are two teams in very close range of each other.

Iran's chances to qualify is held in this ONE match, and WE WILL PREVAIL. I promise you

wow what can I say every team has the same amount of time as us to fix their team to paly togather, to get used to each other, to look at what problems they have and gess what they even bring in new players they even send their (c) team to take on an (a) team of a much stronger team and the end up winning and all you can say is we had no time
what did you think barnko needs these players to be with him 24/7 for 4 years just so that he can fix the problems with the team and if he does not have for that long then he was not given the same time as was given to all other coaches in the world???
and you say what you see in an inch barnko see's in mills well maybe that is true for you but for some of us branko seems to be blind as what I see in inches branko can't see in mm.

him and his 2 coach system for merzapoor has not worked infact merzapoor is geting worse by the min and I don'tthink he will be able to walk even by the time we play our 1st game.

their is a dffrence in kaveing a plan were you attack against a strong team one day and deffend another day but to try the same thing for 5 years is not keeping your plan to your self when every one can name your players that you are going to pick to play for you is not keeping your plans to our self.

I'll make it short and sweet for all of you Iran will start the game with a fast attack du to some ghayrat baze from our big names then mexico deffence will stop them. Mexico will then run the ball down come about 20-25 yard and keep shooting the ball in thus scoring on just about 70% of them.
in the 2nd 45 min mexico will moe the ball down to the 10-15 yard make a high pass and nosrate will try tostop it but score for them thus at this point razie will get mad and slap nosraate in the back of the head and both of them will get a red card they will mis their next games too. now with us being 2 men short mexico will take us to school merazpoor will make his face and do nothing .

Iran with it's players back and all angry at each other will come back to play angola.
angola had put up a good fight against both potugal and mexico so they will start to think they can take out Iran will play their hardest game yet Iran having lost so badly their last 2 game will come just to play their 90 min and go home so it will end up with angola pushing until they get their 1 goal and by chance I ran got a penalty so Ali Daie (the skipper ) of the team take the shot it goes in and the game end with a tie.
Barnko will say he did not have time and that I.F.F did not pt any maches together for him, the players were bad but merzapoor was injured and it was razie that hit nosrate costing us the game with portugal or else we would have won that 5-0 !!!!!!

correct me if im wrong but by putting someone in a standby list, it means that the player cant make it to the worldcup list unless one of the candidates for his post gets injured or cant make it due to some reason like a an illness or a family problem or something. so basically, if he would put nikki there, maybe it would motivate nikki more, but basically that would mean nikki wont be used unless madanchi, maneei, zandi or someone gets injured or cant make it or something.

i personally think that the standby list is like a backup, incase of emergency one of these players will be used if no other options remain and clearly, branko doesnt have such plans for nikbakht!

maybe this will support wat im trying to say and also answer ur previous question that branko might use nikki for LB.
in this interview by kaveh mahjoob on goal.com (dated today), branko clearly says he will play zare/madanchi/nikki as LB behind zandi. so i guess we might see a zandi-nikbakht left flank.

Mobaali - can play many posts, and would be a good sub for 2-3 different posts, but mainly as a sub for karimi.
jabbari - sub for karimi ........ / roudbarian ( as we need 3 gk's )
mani'ee - shd START on the left
sadeghi - at least a sub ( if not a starter. I would start him ahead of zareh ) for LB
sohrab - ahead of yahya as he's in far better form than yahya
