What is right choice for the midfield !?

Lets forget our problems with the Goalkeepers.
lets forget the left back position.'
lets even, forget our shortage in forward position .

what should we do with excesive number of midfield players ?

There are some hopefuls, :

Aghaie,..Baue,...bayzadeh,...,jabbari,....kazami,. ....,Mohammad Nori,....Pijman nouri,.......Kianoosh Rahmati,....Ebrahim sadeghi,.....Maziar zare...,etc.

Iman Mobali,....kazemian,......Madanchi,.....Nikbakht,. ..etc.

and then there are some " Very hopefuls ",:

But frankly, then one I like the best,has recently been most productive,......and that is

is choosing 3, and let go of others is the right answer ?

bahram jan, if we have one thing in abundance, it is great midfielders.

I have named MY choices for the Mid in the list of 50:

right mid:
kazemian, kia, E sadeghi, haghi

Left mid:
mani'ee, zandi, madanchi, niki,

def mid :
nekunam, teymoorian, kazemi, rahmati, zareh

central mid / playmaker :
shojaei
jabbari
navidkia
mobaali
M nouri
karimi
kolahkaj
badamaki
ravankhah
bao

although some players can fulfill many roles, such as shojaei on the right, karimi on the left, mobaali on the left, badamaki on the right, ravankhah on the right, zareh in center, zandi in center, ....
then, you can have guys like defenders montazeri playing def mid also, or P Nouri as left mid . or karimi as forward.


in fact we have so many good players that the difficulty is in omitting some of them !
so discussing that would be only pleasurable.
BUT in areas like Goal Keepers and Forwards, we have shortages ( especially in keepers ) that are very alarming & worrisome.

it is THESE areas that need good probing and observation by whoever chooses the list and then is in charge of reducing it to the final 23-24 players.
This task is the one that needs most the discussion.

and since we are talking about midfielders, let me say one thing about a great player:
I dont know what Navidkia's problem is that he is so prone to injuries. But he and the club ought to do something fundamental about it. the trainer shd lay down a comprehensive program especially for him to toughen up.
for all his mastery and skills, they guy is very very susceptible to all sorts of injuries!
diet, training, weight lifting, body building, .... everything shd be tried to toughen the guy up. not only for sepahan's sake, but for Iran's as well.

Kaebi and Manei should be given a good opportunity as rw and lw respectively. They have been overlooked (especially in Manei's case) for too long.

Midfield is about the only area where Team Melli has no worries. The only comment I have is to give Shojaei a place or at least give him more playing time.

I just wish we could put Niki, Madanchi and Manei in a blender and make one very good LW out of them with the:

- Physical power and presence, plus the heading and passing abilities of Niki.
- Speed and footwork of Madanchi.
- Crossing and shooting of Manei.

how about if we tell them to climb on top of each other?
that's increase their HEIGHT ( and heading ability ) also.
not to mention better physical mass, so they wont get muscled over by defenders.

LOL, what a sight To be able to have the best advantage, we have to tie Madanchi and Manei back to back with Niki on their shoulders. That way Madanchi can run and trick his way up front, then turn around so Manei can cross and with Niki off the ground we don't have to risk his reckless tackles and unnecessary warnings at the side lines!

we certainly can.

you see. in any other time, such a suggestion would have sparked serious debate. some would say the team has gelled and is coordinated so lets not tamper with it.
but right now, there is no team.
many of the previous TM have either been sidelined or are not going to be called again.

so I think instead of guys like kia, karimi, ... we can use ppl like shojaei, kazemian, ... .
I dont think in terms of coordination there'd be much of a difference.

Ideally, all of these formations should be tried in the forthcoming TM friendlies and then a decision be made. On paper, it is extremely difficult to just 'guess' which lineup will work the best.

we certainly need the experience of these players but can give them a bit of rest throughout our first qualification round, use our ambitious talented youngsters and combine them from the second stage.
