I saw it, I am really disappointed to forum staff that they even didn't ban the guy to show at least they follow their own bylaws. I am amazed it took so long for levithan to even close the thread.

Wow, do you remember Nori Khoodayari. He was three four years ahead of the time in Jaame Valeeahd, that was being held each year in Ahwaz I think. That guy was amazing. In 1356 there was this guy who was playing for Khuzestan youth Ayyoob Poor Janaki that I played against ( I was playing for Tehran). Ayyoob was telling me that there was a rumor, that Noori did roopayee most of the time during the trip on train from Ahwaz to Tehran.
He was a magician with teh ball. Too bad he never fulfilled his potentials. Do you remember "Hasoon" Abuldreza Barzegari? I played against him. What a great player!!!!.

Noori, was great.....he did dance with the ball......may be one to one, was better than karimi, as no one was able to get the ball from him.....yet, he never looked to distant, and was never able to distribute the ball.

not only that, but also the day the TEAM played its best game in the miserable tournament we lost !

the day GN got the selection for the starting line up right ( as opposed to f**king up the first 3 games' starters ), we lost.

the day we met a good team ( malaysia not counted ) and did NOT concede the first goal, we lost.

the day GN's subbing let us down ( as opposed to his previous ones where they lifted the team ) , we lost.

I agree with you but at the same time if you look at the other half of the glass, you ll see that this is the first time after a very very long time that we have 2 Powerful and great CBs.....Hosseini and Rezaie
Of course Rezaie is not 100% but I m sure he won t make those stupid mistakes again....so in terms of individual abilities we re well above any team in the AC...but it s the team chemistry and the defensive line control and Zandi on the left that will kill us....and it s not zandi s fault....
I hope we get it together tomorrow

But i have to disagree about our defense in general and center of it in particular...!
Rezaee has been pure crap!
He has been the major soorakh point very shaky and not focused at all.
Zandi has done OK so far, Hosseini exceptional, but the D-line and plan sucks in general...

The greatest improvement in my mind has been for the first time seeing a very physically fit Iran that ran out Ozbaks, and China on stamina, even in that weather. This is truly a big revolution in my mind.
But the football 101 rules dictate that a team without a defense is doomed to fail. We have absolutely NONE!
Any team scores on us and we are incapable of standing a 5 minute pressure!
Defense wins championship and we lack that with all colors.
We will get lucky to get thru to maybe even semifinals but this is defenitely not a championship contender team with that defense...

If he continues the way he played against malaysia, we will have good chances, as he will revive the left side, where s.Korea will be weak, as they will pay the most attention to our right side !
If we are going to beat Korea, our left side should take over, both,defensively,and offensively.

eversince rahman's unnecessary penalty donation to Ireland in the first leg against Ireland in 04 I have beenagainst rahman and do not thnk that he is a SMART defender. he maybe fit and was among our best choices but he has never been up hi in my list, EVER!
I was not talking about freak accidents, or exceptions...not at all...I meant to say that team Iran is incapable of proper defending , int hat medium, changing your players at least I dont thnk will make a statistically significant difference.

reza and ali jan, these are our opinions.
while you two like karimi ( or players like him ) to be handled with kid-gloves and indulged more than necessary, I dont advocate to this attitude.

I say they are mature adults, supposedly having learnt their trade in a semi pro and pro environment.
they also know what is required of them in a team environment, they also ought to be aware of the serious nature of such comp's.

if after all this, they dont want to make life a little bit hard for themselves and dont "feel" like pushing themselves and their limits for such occasions, I say bench the bugger.

subbing karini is not at helm here, we had one shot in a million years to kick Mexico arse that day, that day, on that field and with that game in the first half we had them, the second half comes but all Branko did was change his diapers!
the truth is unlike many I had actually predicted one point in WC for TM!
so why do I feel sorry?

Because we could have had them on that day on that field and we did not capitalize ...
