Doctor Doom, I think the whole of Asia is sharing your happiness!

Iraq did today what Asia needed to save face. Bravo Iraq! (again .. not likely of me to normally cheer for an Arab team, but it is amazing to see how unified and close we are in Asia, despite of our differences)! A lesson in history for all of us from Middle East!! but that is separate topic all together!

Back to football ..

Australia needed an Asian lesson and they got it today. They came to this tounament with a kind of arogance that was totally uncalled for. I noticed on the first day when they were playing Oman, their fans were holding banners saying "We are here to Bang Kok" !!! (not sure if anyone noticed it).. but that just shows how disrespectful the Australians are of Asian football.

I don't have anything against Australia, but they need to learn more lessons before they can be of any serious treat in Asia. In fact, in the long run, it is even better for Australian football, because they now know that in order to be successful in Asian, they got a long list of to do list.

Once again, Bravo Iraq and GO Thailand to complete the lesson for the Aussies. They need to finish last in their group and make an early exist to learn that you got have a better reason for calling yourself "The Favourites", than just arogance!

you'd also think having such a dubious origin ( british rejects and convicts who were exiled to somewhere FAR from the mother land ) would mellow them down or make them tolerant or humble !

but it ( the unnecessary arrogance ) is inherent to their nature.
or maybe it is more to do w geography : being left to one side of the world, more or less secluded .
but all in all, aussies, generally are quite idiotically arrogance and ignorant.

another thing I like about this edition of asia cup is that referees are killing the arab teams..... or shd I say, they are NOT favoring them so blatantly, as tradition goes.
which in other words means if refs do their correct job, it will be "killing arabs", as these guys rely so much on refs and their favors and base most their games on refs' gifts that when they DONT get those gifts, they just crumble !

teams that used to enjoy massive favors from the refs and were spoiled by this tradition, are getting slaughtered by east asian refs and east asian hosts.

This is the same Iraq team that our B team played againt. Belive in power of Iranian Brand of football. If only we COULD BELEIVE IN OURSELVES. Armin Jaan, weren't most people scared shit afraid of Aussies? Why so much fear. Black players in south side chicago become the best Basketball players in NBA despite gang violance, lack of education, dodging bullet all that. That is because a black guy in south side chicago walks to the Seven Eleven while dribbling the basketball.

Same with Iranina football. All those goal kocheeks in Iran makes our players unique at least in Asian level. I coach at youth level in US and I have kids from 6 years up. We have 2-3 practices per week (usually) and one game. They play 20 minutes scrimage. Most loos and noonoor American kids, you can't push them that much, otherwise Mommy come and will have a talk to you (to hurt his/her self esteem). I never have enough time to let them play scrimmage. Plus playing scrimmage against your teammate vs. playing games against bacheh mahals and next neigborhood when korkori and braggin right is concerned are totally different things. Comapre that with iranian kids who play every day an hour of goal kockees in Iran. Point is when you get an Iranian player lot of basisc are there. Same with Brazilians and Argentinians. Watch Copa America and you see the non Europan football, you see "Beautiful Football".

That is why I was almost ready to cry after the WC (for the missed opportunity). I am not saying we need to get arrogant, but if we dont' have a particularly bad day, we rule ASIA.

i don't understand tho why such a reaction to their loss! what I mean is I personally never read anywhere that Aussis thought they will walk over the asians or that they said anywhere that they are better than the asians?! If anything, they respected the asian cup, brought their full team and said they don't want to be looked at as favorits...so where is this so called ****y behaviour that some are talking about is coming from!
