Human aziz, good to see your post! Hope you are here more frequently
and we can all benefit from your views.

I know there is a lot that goes on in practice that we don't see and are
unaware of. But as for the keeper, if for no other reason than the following statistics:

Mirzapour (age 28) int caps 67 (first int cap, Jul 2001)
Taelblou (age 24) int caps 3 (first int cap, Feb 2006)
Roudbarian(age 28) int caps 3 (first int cap, March 2006)

I am sure you agree, if Mirza was injured, our choice would be one of the
above two. Now in the interest of having a more balanced GK experience
(if nothing else) wouldn't you agree we need to give the other two some
real chance as well just to be prudent? I agree 100% that a 28 year old has
a good 10 year ahead of him as a keeper, but in this regard and going to WC,
I did a quick check on most of the teams (including the other 3 from Asia) and
our keeper experience was the most lopsided of all. (BTW Talebloo had only
1 int cap at the time of WC).

In my view this monopoly is not good for two reasons:
1-Keepers like other players need to have certain pressure to know their job
is up for grab if they don't perform (look at Germany for instance).
2-Injury to the main keeper and familiarity of 2nd string keeper with Defensive
line and the team. (Nakisa in 1998)

      what am I missing?

we need to give taleblou a chance. 3 games is not enough. the korea game is a big game and he can show us if he deserves the spot.

This poll is now closed in both forums and it appears that Mirza has the
edge in both from the point of view of the fans. I have been conducting
polls regarding TM players for a while now. As far as Mirza is considered,
he has been PFDC fans favorite (look back at polls after WC friendlies or
even right before Angola). I wonder what the sentiments is in Iran, but
it will be very interesting to see who our new coach Mr.GhaleNoee will
put there. Thank you all for participating.
