Hero Gold Cup: Iran Women’s National Team lose to India and Myanmar

Tasnim – ODISHA, Iran’s women’s football team suffered a late 2-0 defeat to Myanmar at the Hero Gold Cup on Monday.

Substitute Yee Yee Oo scored twice in added time to break the Iranian hearts in the four-nation tournament.

Iran had lost to host India 1-0 in the competition’s opener on Saturday.

Maryam Azmoun’s team will face Nepal in its next match.

Myanmar is the highest ranked team in the tournament with a FIFA ranking of 44, while Iran is ranked 60th and India is 62. Nepal is the lowest-ranked team.

Hero Gold Cup concludes on Friday with the top two teams squaring off after the round robin in the final.
