Persepolis dominated the match in the second half and Shoja Khalilzadeh headed the ball on target to make it 2-1.

“First of all, I have to congratulate Baadraan coaching staff and players because they are a strong team. We didn’t take them for granted and I am happy we booked a place in the quarters,” Persepolis coach Branko Ivankovic said in the post-match news conference.
