Persianfootball.com – TEHRAN, On Saturday, Carlos Queiroz announced his final 23-man-squad for the upcoming vital clashes in Qatar and against China in World Cup qualifying.
Before, already a preliminary domestic list had been announced and extended by 10 foreign based players after a short training camp and a friendly match behind closed doors versus Iraq, which Iran lost 0-1 due to a second half penalty.
Noteable absentees from the foreign legion are injured playmaker Ashkan Dejagah of Vfl Wolfsburg as well as Scandinavian based goalkeepers Sousha Makani and Alireza Haghighi, who both didn’t play a competitive game in 2017 yet.
Meanwhile NK Lokomotiva Zagreb midfielder Ali Karimi and Foolad Khuzestan’s attacker Sassan Ansari, somewhat surprisingly, made the final list.
