Tasnim – TEHRAN, Tractor Sazi international midfielder Soroush Rafiei signed a contract with Iranian popular team Persepolis on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old player has reportedly signed an 18-month contract with Persian Gulf Professional League club for an undisclosed fee.

He will wear the No. 7 shirt in Persepolis which had previously been retired in honour of club legend Ali Parvin.

“Ever since I was a child, I dreamed about playing for Persepolis. I am here to help my team win Iran Professional League. The Persepolis fans are the main reason I joined the team,” Rafiei said after joining his favourite team.

Persepolis currently sits top of IPL table and is a favourite to qualify for the AFC Champions League group stage, where the Reds have been drawn in Group D along with Saudi Arabia giant Al Hilal and Qatari powerhouse Al Rayyan.
