Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Persepolis head coach Branko Ivankovic believes that the recent speculation about his resignation is just a story to stop his team’s progress.

“My resignation is just a rumor. My full concentration is on Persepolis and I think this is a similar story to my players doping tests. People who don’t want success for Persepolis create these rumors to hit the team,” Persepolis head coach Branko Ivankovic told reporters.

Branko also talked about his contract extension and Mehdi Taremi’s future at Persepolis.

“I’ve not had any meeting about my contract extension with the club officials. I also think for Mehdi Taremi is better to stay with Persepolis one more year and then move to another club. He could be a very good player if he works hard,” Branko added.

The Reds giant, who edged past Foolad on Friday, is currently in the 3rd place with 34 points behind Esteghlal and Esteghlal Khouzestan.

Persepolis will take on Saipa on Thursday in the 21st week of Iran Professional League.
