Jahanbahksh leads NEC to promotion playoff [VIDEO]

Persianfootball.com – NIJMEGEN, A goal and an assist from Iranian gem Alireza Jahanbakhsh gave NEC a 2-1 victory over Almere City and, due to the Netherland’s second league’s unique system, already a fixed ticket for the post-season promotion playoff.

A beautiful backheel volley goal from Jahanbakhsh and his assist to Ars’ goal gave NEC a 2-0 lead while Almere City, with Dutch-Iranian goalkeeper Agil Etemadi, pulled a goal back late in the game.

The win secured NEC the top position of the ranking after exactly one quarter of the season. Each winner of one of the first three season quarter automatically qualifies for the Eredivisie promotion playoff.

However, NEC can still directly promote by topping the table at the end of the complete season.
