Persianfootball.com – KAZAN, Following the recruitments of Alireza Haghighi and Sardar Azmoun, Russian top club Rubin Kazan have set their eyes on another Iranian player, Saeid Ezzatollahi of Malavan Anzali.

The tall midfielder, who has just turned 17 in October, spearheaded Iran’s u-17 team in the successful World Cup campaign in the number 6 jersey, where the Iranian youngsters advanced from a tough group unbeaten before losing out to later champions Nigeria in the round of 16.

Ezzatollahi had established himself as fixed player at Malavan Anzali last season already and not only won the league’s young player of the year award, but also attracted some interest from Europe.

The number of teams having the central defensive midfield ace on their lists has certainly increased after the tournament in the UAE, but reportedly Rubin Kazan are in pole position to sign Ezzatollahi.

With 18-year-old Sardar Azmoun the club already has led an Iranian teenage supertalent from the youth team to the senior squad successfully.

After impressing with Rubin’s youngsters last season, striker Azmoun has established himself in the first team, playing regularily, having scored two goals this season so far and even starting for the club such in Rubin’s 3-0 league victory on Monday when only the crossbar denied another Azmoun goal.

Much less successful had been Haghighi’s stay at Rubin. The goalkeeper failed to make a single appearance in competitive matches in his 18-month stay and returned to Persepolis on loan in summer.
