Albion are opening talks with Graham Potter after meeting the release clause of close to £3 million. Has happened in the last few minutes. Talks expected to continue over the next 48 hours. #bhafc
Yeah CH really did a number on Ali. But to his credit it wasn’t intentional. Or at least it didn’t seem as though it was because he always expressed his support for having him as his player. He just wanted to play safe with Brighton so they don’t relegate. And so he had Alireza play everywhere. CH might have watched Alireza’s performance at the World Cup than with AZ in Eredivisie. Because the way Ali was utilized this season was not as an attacker but as a defensive minded pawn.
Now, Alireza wasn’t completely innocent either in how he played. At times he came across as scared to take risks/chances. But to Ali’s credit he was also unlucky to get a few in the back of the net for Brighton.
But all in all, CH reed with how he used Jahanbakhsh lol.

Just received official notification of a #bhafc press conference at 4.30pm. Looks like the aforementioned birthday appointment is on!
Comment: I expect Graham Potter will veer more to the "Total Football" end of the continuum than CH. This means there will be even less opportunity for specialised players. Players will be expected more to swap positions during games, not just in the starting line-up.
Graham Potter appointed new Brighton head coach after leaving Swansea
G pothead morabishoon shod ? ya na hanooz
Its Official Graham Potter appointed new Brighton manager after leaving Swansea
wooohooo! now its time for good old grahm to bring his favorite ostersunds player saman ghoddos over to the seaguls. ARJ and saman in attacking midfield positions in the prem would be a dream
This also applies to ARJ.
Out of All of the attacks in AZ, 60-70% of them went through him.
Jahanbaksh needs players to make runs around him, and players that can play quick passes.
He is someone who definitely needs to have a good amount of the ball to have a good impact.
Graham potter coming to Brighton is an absolute blessing for him.

This is great news for JB. Potter plays very attractive attacking football and is sure to utilize JB to his strengths.
Unfortunately, as a Swansea fan this leaves us in a pretty messed up situation. I was so excited when he was appointed at Swansea and I've been following Potter since his Östersunds days and he is a very charismatic manager and a very good person. The second most personable manager behind maybe Jürgen Klopp... He's very honest.
Good news for brighton and JB bad news for swansea... and apparently only 3 million in compensation to swansea.
It is not sure at all that Potter believes in JB as much as CH did. I really hope he does and JB gets as much playing time as before. If that happens then he may actually be more successful given, Potter's playing style. but let's not get all excited just yet!
that's great..!! thanks for your input..!
mostly what i was wanting to know about Potter coaching style and demeanor since his spell in English football..!
irrelevant of all the typical question marks and pre-existing risks to players that comes along with such managerial changes, based on what i saw from CH all of last season and especially his continued disorganized/chicken-shitt game approaches in the last 2 games after their EPL safety was assured, honestly think he had ran outa of all his coaching ideas and simply had reached his managerial ceiling., more importantly it became quiet evident to all that he was sold in his old ways and was'nt even contemplating a Change..!
to me, AliReza stood very little chance of having a impactful 2nd season under CH as the season was winding down and i just can't even fathom such a favorable 180 change in coaching and likely the ensuing playing tactics couldnt be anything but extremely positive for our boy's chances of successful 2nd season..?
besides, he is still Club's highest earner and most expensive marquee signing to date, and on a long contract..! that by itself would force Graham to do his best to get the most out of him before resorting to other alternatives in his squad..! and the excellent early timing of his installment would ensure he would have the full Pre-season to acclimate himself to his desired tactics which is far more suited to his playing strength than the crap CH had him assigned to do on the pitch all of last year..!
now lets hope BHA manage to strengthen and rejuvenate and add a bit of pace to their Midfield and attack in off-season...! everything else looks pretty damn good at the moment for ARJ and BHA, especially compared to couple of weeks back..!
Coaches ultimately do whatever is asked of them by the club hierarchy in order to lure (@least a perceived ) high caliber signing to their club..! especially a small and mostly unknown club such as BHA who dont possess that innate prestige (@ least not yet) as other more storied and well know EPL clubs....! so yea they have to khaye-mal and go above and beyond to attract top prospects to join them..!
the real question should be how involved and vested CH was in the recruitment process @ BHA ..! so far much of what i've read here and there suggest he really wasnt ...? besides a short while back BHA had appointed some new guy(forgot his name) as their new Head of the Recruitment .... so even if CH had a big role before on that front, the appointment suggest there was a clear major change of course was on its way..!
Brighton's owner is an analytics guy. Very big on statistical based analysis (not just goals and assists) and scouting. He and his team had wanted ARJ for at least 3 seasons.
The more traditional football guys like Hughton don't really believe in that stuff.
It doesn't mean Hughton didn't like ARJ, rather he wasn't his first priority.
This is very true and that’s why I like when he plays with Andone up front bc that guy is quick. Quality player overall up front for ARJ to play with I think potter won’t be like CH where he will rotate between the two he’s smart enough to know who the clear better player is
i hope with a new coach alireza can do better. they can get saman, since saman also have a swedish passport he can be a eu player
Having coached Saman and relied on a traditional attacking formation to lift oostersund to a winning team, I have great faith in ARJ’s prospects for next season with the new coach. I get ARJ came to BHA partly for CH, I’m sure ARJ would agree that more of the same from CH next season would likely be the end of his run at BHA
How will the younger manager's do? Potter 44, Rodgers 46, Solskjær 46, Eddie Howe 41, Silva 41, Santo 45
Iranian players always make bad choices thanks to their shitty agents.
Where have you been dude? There was a major competition between Brighton and Leicester to get Jahanbakhsh. Even until the last day no one knew which club he'd choose between them. But from what I remember, Leicester had already their main squad set and just wanted to strengthen their team with Jahanbakhsh further while for Brighton he was supposed to become one of their main players.
there sure was some serious inquiries and intent from LCFC, however it was primarily sparked from ARJ's sudden late season scoring burst that culminated in him winning the Golden Boot and certainly wasnt a longstanding interest to sign Ali as it was the case with BHA..!!
i think that LCFC's sorta last minutes inquisitions for ARJ was primarily sparked by their intent to bargain-shop for a promising Mahrez replacement ..!! possibly even just to be nasty and trying to swoop in last minute to steal Ali from BHA ..!! at a very least they succeeded Running up the Transfer fee$ BHA had to pay AZ, in order to secure his transfer...!!
in short
there certainly was interest from LCFC but it never came across as a genuine intense desire to sign..!
I just remember it being a long crazy blown out saga , with ARJ keeping us guessing till the end. Wouldn’t be surprised if the agent and Alkmaar were using interest from other teams ie Leicester City to get ARJ and Alkmaar more money.
