it looks unlikely but i really think BHA need to dump CH in offseason if they desired anything but another perpetual relegation fight for next season..!!

CH seems to be awful invested and pretty much set in his ultra conservative and unambitious playing tactics..!! highly doubt he would change either even with wealth of more attacking options added to his squad during summer ..!

Alireza's probable improvements for next season are sure to be incremental if not marginal if if CH is kept on and same ol chicken shitt playing antics of him is allowed to persist..!

ARJ considering his contract and price tag is unlikely to become a bit player or not given many more chances next season by any other manager in charge of BHA ..!

regardless of coaching change, BHA need to inject some youth and pace into their side for next season especially on the MF and attacking front..!

I haven't followed the discussions here but JB cannot be given the worst grade in this game or else something is definitely wrong.

ARJ actually had a great first half. He had the only two non-set piece shots. The first was beautiful but just a foot wide. The second was deflected by a defender and led directly to the corner that BHA scored. He did his job defensively. He worked hard to get open on offense, but without much service. He tried numerous times for give-and-go, without much reciprocity. The story of BHA this season. Hoping for better coaching, teamwork, and confidence next season.

Also very happy with ARJ's performance today. Just rewatched the first half and there was barely a scene where any winger could have done better. These stats and rating things are sometimes highly suspicious. Looking at Locadia's stats and rating vs. Alireza's is pretty much a proof it's a fluke.

Overall he had an unimpressive season though. Really playing safety first too much in a team that is ultra-defensive. Plus a lot of unnecesarry errors, which he thankfully got under control towards the end of the season.

Remembering his first very unimpressive season at AZ and where he went from there, I am optimistic for his future at Brighton!

I think ARJ was subbed off because of tactical changes, don't think it was "personal".

Jahanbakhsh did well. Some of his defensive repositioning was a little slow but how can anyone really blame him for that when he has to basically be at the edge of his teams box.

Didn't watch the game, but I'm happy to hear he did well. I'm sure it was a great "F off" to all his critics.

The people who slice and dice the kid via "statistics" and "ratings" don't know wtf they're talking about. It's not plug and play. It's football.

The team's tactics, being in a new environment, first year being in the world's toughest soccer league, will significantly affect a player's performance on the field.

Without a doubt, ARJ's ceiling is MUCH higher than any Brighton player. It's not even close.

Congrats to Man City.

They proved themselves the best team this season.

Five half chances and four goals.
vs BHA, four half chances and one goal: Murray 1-0, Jahanbakhsh (cf. Mahrez), Dunk (cf. Gudogan), Duffy (cf. Laporte)

Atmosphere was a bit like a testimonial, but City still had to be clinical. Nervous first 27 minutes from City.

I can't figure out the algorithm on Whoscored or sofascore because it shows him as statistically better for most of the key indices than the players who scored better than him.

Again a lot of negative comments on the BHA forum which I don't think are warranted. I thought he showed class quite a few times in the game and I'm not sure it's just my Iranian-tinted spectacles

Don't take the Brighton fans too seriously. Reading some of their posts, its clear they know nothing about Football. How can you favor a clueless Knockaert who gives the ball away evertime he touches it and backheels to the opposition in his own box over AJ is beyond me. Kolan khar behtar az ona mifahme.

What a disappointing season for all of our English leagues players. JB got shafted by this decision, should have went to Leicester...a super sub in that team is better than being starter at this shitty Brighton. Player like him thrives in an attacking system, not this bs style. If they want that style, they shoulda never got JB. I think best is for him to get loaned or sold somewhere. If he stays theyll be in Relegation all season

Chances are JB is staying with them unless they get a bid from another club in the region of 8-10 million pounds (unlikely)

the new coach will be forced to work with JB, as he is the club's record signing. Even if the club's management and fans dont like JB, they need to minimize their losses and the only way to do that is to try to get him to perform next season in order to attract some bids for him.

there is a small chance that an Arab team or a dutch teams bids for him, which in this case, Brighton will 100% sell him.

My only hope is to see an attacking minded coach and an intelligent recruitment of player

Graham Potter is the favorite by the Bookies to be the next manager.

Can’t say I’m surprised , something hasn’t looked right there for a while. Guessing that with the new set up with Ashworth they are looking for a new style, especially as he will be looking to overhaul the squad.
Graham Potter is an interesting choice , was amazing what he did in Sweeden but hasn’t exactly excelled at Swansea, But he does play a more exciting brand off football. May bring Matty James with his who is a good player.

Wouldn’t be surprised, all the attacking players have looked lost in his tactics.

Graham potter to Brighton would be the best possible thing for ARJ and Brighton. He can do wonders with this team.

Ballsy move by the owner to shittcan Chris, but the right decision for possible progress of the club into the highest echelons of english football and certainly a welcomed decision from Alireza's perspective..!!? well I guess that will depend on who's the successor and how his game plans play into his footballing strength ..!?

Read an interview with ARJ's advisor a few days ago. Basically ARJ is killing it in training, but he's nervous or something and can't do it yet on the field.
Advisor said 2nd season he'll turn int around.

As far as I remember JB himself said he chose Brighton over Leicester city mostly because in the former's case it was the coach who'd been wanting him for 4 years.

I think this was a good move for Brighton, I just don't know what this means for Jahanbakhsh...

There will be a lot of rumours and former professionals etc giving their opinions in the press over the next few days and sadly due to ARJ being their record signing and Brighton having a poor season then he will be used as a scapegoat. I agree with some of you that it was reported that he was wanted by Hughton for a long time before he came and Hughton was the one who told the Brighton fans that they hadn’t seen the best of him yet.
Hopefully the new guy who comes in has some sense to see that he is better than the player he was last season and gives him a chance but also Alireza has to prove himself to the new manager in training and in how he holds himself.
As I said a while back it was interesting how these attacking players were brought from abroad and none of them were able to prove themselves and lacked confidence and there was a reason for it, which was Hughtons tactics.

i suppose lack of Prem experience is the biggest knock against his possible appointment..!? and his relative obscurity ?? but from tactical and inspirational leadership perspective he could be an ideal candidate for BHA, outside the obvious list of Prem journey-men coaches who just swap teams every year in EPL/Championship, each with varying success rates..!

dont believe that non sense for a second - hughton LOVES JB. he was scouting him for a long time, he went to holland with him for a ceremony ffs what kind of manager would do that for a player they didn't want?

BHA will get relegated now - Championship-level players, not much money, problem with team spirit that even a nice-guy coach can't fix.

Hughton, despite his football, was doing a miracle keeping these guys above water. The promoted sides for next season (Canaries, Blades and likely LUFC) have better squads. Even though NCFC have less money than BHA, they have spent it very very well over the last 1-2 seasons.
