They say refusal to allow competition against Israeli athletes puts them in an impossible position.

Maybe we need a ban to make IR look stupid and maybe it wont happen again

    National disgrace and international humilation.

Iran is much better than Israel in most sports. I do not know why our sport bodies continue to humilate our nation by faking injuries or losing on purpose for not facing Israelies. They should at least not make a fuss about it in sports and let our Pahlavans to go and face off Israelies and humilating them or crushing them.

This is bad, its not even the coaches fault.

Sorry! After I made the thread I tried to delete it but couldn’t. The source I got for lifeban was not correct.

To this day I still don't get the vendetta these idiots running Iran have against Israel.
I'm not saying we need to be buddies with them but in every case this stupid policy has allowed a much stronger and talented Iranian athlete to forfeit to a much worse Israeli athlete.
Its a complete win-win for Israel. They win the public relations and the match.

One year ban would be catastrophic if it happens before Aug 2018. We have the very important Asian Olympic games and wrestling is expected to win 7 or 8 golds there.

^ OMFG, what a disaster. So shameful.

I am so nervous. Fingers crossed that the ruling is not devastating for Iranian wrestling.

Do you have any sources or links so we can read the story?

If true, this is beyond pathetic. IR implements this idiotic policy of not recognizing Israel and competing against their athletes and when they get exposed about this, it is the athlete that suffers? This policy needs to be abandoned, it does nothing but harm Iranian athletes and sports.

I feel terrible for Alireza, he is a very talented wrestler, is only 23 years old and has a bright future ahead of him. I hope he does not get a lifetime ban.

Really sad news if confirmed. He had a great potential.

If true, IR will give him 1000 different medals and 3000 gold coins to make up for it. F*ck IR.
