Even if our athletes came back with zero medals I would be proud of them, just for the sake of trying & fighting for Iran despite all the BS they face (inside & outside Iran).

It's the same story every time: for 4 years the majority often doesn’t really give a shit and as soon as the Olympics start, we expect them to get us medals & do well. The Olympic is over now, watch how we AGIAN will barley do anything to support our athletes (facilities, management,) or fight the obvious corruption and anti-Iranian officials.... but as soon as the next big tournament starts we blindly demand medals. We know about the problems, every athlete constantly points out what we lack before the Olympics, during the Olympics and after the Olympics, but we never ever change something. This goes back to the federation (IR), but mostly also to us because we don’t put enough pressure on them! Instead some of us ignorantly blame the athletes...

It was Ok but could have been much better.

I was very disappointed by the volleyball team that lost all their matches except against 2 minnows. And we were lucky we weren't drawn in the other group with Brazil, Italy, France, USA, etc..

It's about expansion. Next Olympics I hope to see more athletes in different sports.

^^ perfectly said. But I think next Olympics will be Iran's best. Yazdani. Kimia. Farzan should all get gold. They'll be in their prime and weightlifting we will always win a couple at least. We need new blood in wrestling in general

Considering we have the islamic republic as our government which invests zero in sports and everything in Syria, Iraq, Palestina, Hezbollah etc. And still finished 25th in the overall ranking, i´d say Iran did pretty good! I don´t know which planet you live in though.

well, it's hard for countries like Iran to increase their medal count when your have sports like track and field and swimming handing out medals like there is no tomorrow

One of the best Freestyle Wrestling olympics overall for Iran.

I am very satisfied and proud of our athletes!

Don't forget corruption and cheating ... you cannot legislate for that!
