I have to disagree. I think Iran would benefit tremendously if Turkey hosted the Olympics in 2020. They are bordering nations and will have major support from its own fans and the region as a whole.

Turkey are bidding to host the 2020 Olympics. If they win, I think we can expect to see an exponential increase in their medal haul in forthcoming games.

It will be another 30/40 years at least before Iran could even think of hosting an Olympic tournament, provided that IR is gone soon and Iran hasn't been carved into a dozen pieces by then.
