Keeping Skocic is the only logical choice at this stage.
Anything else at this juncture is not feasible and it is counter productive.
Instead of replacing him, the federation can bring in some top notch technical assistant for him and come up with a good preparation plan with some good friendlies.
That can be better than bringing someone fresh with no familiarity with Iranian football culture and capabilities. There is no magic about this. Our football is not at a level that someone just take over at national level and be successful.
No point in paying another few million to some coach who will not be able to do much in 8 months. It took CQ a good few years to get the team at a good level. What makes anyone to think this can be done in 8 months.
Let's not have Willy 2.0!!

You can already see the media is setting the wheels in motion from Javad to IFF board member to big online Iranian football accounts.Originally posted by Iran_19 View PostRumor is Daei may take over. Too many names now.

Dragan is not strong enough to withstand this.

I was a Skocic supporter but any coach that lets his decisions be dictated by Majidi and his teenage esteghlal supporters pressure doesn’t deserve my respect. Better find someone who will stand up to esteghlal like CQ did to Perspolis.Originally posted by perspolis#1 View Post^ Not a fan of how he handled the South Korea game, but you guys want to just bring any Hassan, Hossein, or Taghi 8 months before the world cup for what?
Honestly, the best way forward for our football is for reactionary PP/ESES fans to be put on a leash and common sense reforms be made to our youth systems.
Make those two changes and we go from whatever mess we are now to Korea/Japan lite.

Get Jardim in ASAP would improve us massively and the players would respect him!

He was very impressive his first round in Monaco. Can't really say I know much about him since then.Originally posted by The View PostIsn't this guy very predictable and overrated?
Wasn't the main reason he won AFC champions League down to having the strongest roster in the continent?

Please share what your midfield would have been. I think you are overestimating the effect of just having a new coach that close to the qualifiers. They are not going to do anything daring especially if they have NEVER worked with Iranian players before. You could see with Spain prior to last world cup they got a new coach so close to the World cup and were lost. That's a Spain team with player caliber 5x ours by the way.Originally posted by mehdi13 View PostAnd what Skocic is gonna do in 8 months that he couldn’t do since October 2020? We all saw 5 months after first Korea game what he could do…
I don’t understand your criticism of lack of familiarity with player pool? Is Skocic not already starting 33 year olds like Hajsafi and Amiri? Inviting Kamyabinia?
A national team coaches job is not to teach his players how to play football, thats actually on the youth academies and clubs. It's on the coach to take the players they have and maximize their efficiency. Do I think Skocic is the best coach for us? No. Should he have made better player decisions yesterday? Yes.
I don't think knee jerk reactions have ever gotten us anywhere in our country though and the prime example is Ali Geda.
