Despite drops in his speed, dribbling, or other more physical parts to his game he always had an eye for some very unique and technical passes. Makes you wonder if he would've thrived more in a central position, sort of like KDB.

Yes. His vision and class with the ball is never in question. I don't understand why he has wasted himself trying to be a winger who takes the man on... when he is just too slow in his body movements in many cases.Originally posted by TM4LIFE View PostDespite drops in his speed, dribbling, or other more physical parts to his game he always had an eye for some very unique and technical passes. Unfortunately TM isn't set up like that, neither the 442 or the 433 we play accommodates the role you are describing him in.Originally posted by ABalls View PostWhen he's on as a passer, he is the best we have and he's uber talented there. I wish we could focus ARJ on being a distributor rather than an attacking player (where we have other options).
Ironically at this point of his career the best setup for him is what he had in Brighton. Just imagine him + Mehdi behind Sardar in a 3-4-2-1 setup. Toss Saman in there as CM and boy we are cruising to the round of 16...

This should be the setup.

Hmm, funny you mentioned KDB, who has the speed, dribbling and all the physical parts to be a winger.Originally posted by TM4LIFE View PostDespite drops in his speed, dribbling, or other more physical parts to his game he always had an eye for some very unique and technical passes. I actually think the winger position suits him well. He can cut inside and shoot with either foot, and is good at playing with his right or left backs intelligently. The worst thing a winger can do is be a ball hog and lose posession or aimlessly cross the ball (which he doesn’t do). He also does make decent runs.
I think he does have the ability to dribble past his marker more often, but he still needs to get outside his head and be more confident about it.
Although, I’m absolutely loving this new aggressive version of ARJ with TM: more shooting and more goals.
