I just like to add that iraq doesn't have to lose , even if they get a draw against hong kong then they have to beat us to take the 1st spot. Our GD is 19 + some against cambodia , Iraq's GD is 10.

So iran will be 15p - GD= +20
and iraq will be 15p - GD= +10
They have to beat us to take the spot.

I agree, Bahrain is out of the race for the first spot. But GD won't be an factor for TM becoming first in this Group. We can agree that Iran and Iraq will play for the first spot. If both Teams win their next game - which is the most likely Scenario- than Iraq will lead the group with 17p and Iran will have 15p. In this case the final game between Iran and Iran will guaranteed have a sole leader based on Points- means either Iran with a win taking the lead with 18 over Iraqs 17p, or Iraq by defeating Iran taking 20p or 18p with a draw.

If Iraq draws HK and Iran wins against Cambodia, both Teams will go their final meeting with 15p respectively. In this case GD still won't be an factor: Obviously if either side wins, they will top the group based on points, in the case of a draw Iran will automatically have a better GD (because this is the status quo which won't change since Iraq would have draw its last two games).

Last Scenario Iraq looses their game against HK and Iran wins against Cambodia, than Iraq can only become first by defeating Iran, regardless of the GD, to top the group with 17pover Irans 15p.

Hence my suggestion to save some key-players against Cambodia for the final showdown against Iraq. Specially now where Amiri is most likely out of the picture.

Skocic confirms amiri is most likely out for remaining games. Wishing him speedy recovery. It is hard to run midfield game after game with useless players around you, and in the end only a bizarre challenge + fall was what put him out of commission.

For Iraq Nourollahi Ezatolahi Ghoddos seems like a strong possibility, with milad/hajsafi at LB.

Oh man that'd be a huge blow. Hope that won't be the case and he recovers at least for our last game against Iraq.

It's not Bahrain that we're worried about, it's Iraq. Bahrain is pretty much a goner. It's the first spot that we need to snatch, and so we need to make sure our goal difference is above that of Iraq's.
