how old are you man? its correct to have expectations as fans but be realistic. even the best coach cannot choose a squad within 1 day of arrival.. and CQ had already the best players. now its up to wilmots to choose his players for his own system. and for that it'll take time, trial and error!

Guys can we do one thing differently, not criticize his selections. He's brand new... we need to give him a few months, a year maybe !

We have a good list announced I’m happy with it. Remember Carlos called up the regulars as well (rahamti, aghili, j. Hosseini, Teymourian, etc) In the beggining until he got to know the players and started to develop his own regular squad (pouraliganji, Hosseini, Dejagah, Gucci, Azmoun, Amiri, etc). So no surprise to see a lot of the regulars.

I hope that this coach really utilizes Ghoddos, with his speed, passing, and long range shooting he can become a key player for transitioning the team from defense to offense, and with an aging Shojaei And Dejagah he is the guy to invest in. I believe Carlos didn’t use him as much as he could’ve.

Hoping the best for team Melli and trusting whatever our new coach wants to employ. Let’s see how these friendlies go with his limited time in charge.

Also beyond happy Hashemian is the assist coach what a great opportunity for someone that is going the hard route (studying in Germany properly, rather than going through party bazi in Iran to learn how to coach). He is a guy that will for sure coach our national team properly one day as well great attitude and work ethic.

With no real Midfielder that can transition from D to O, Im playinngg with two Mezzala midfielders (Torabi/Amiri) pushing the game with the ball and have the two wingers attacking the box with Sardar for the final touches.

This list is understandable as he was around less than a week and basically invited CQ squad, but in long term, at least 1/3 of current squad need to be crossed off and retire. Shojaei, Montazeri, Vouria, Ashkan, Ebrahimi, Amiri, Mazaheri. Even at some extend Rezaeian, Karim, and Hajsafi, Otherwise the squad will be too old for 2022!!!

The locker room still will need veteran presence and experience. You can't just cross off everyone you see 29 or older.
Although I do agree Shojaei and Montazeri need to be crossed and slowly transition Dejagah/Ebrahimi/Hajsafi into that veteran in the locker room role

Well, give the guy a break. He has a WEEK from signing to the first friendly. He (and anybody else) would go for the working template of players (ie from Asian Cup) and make adjustments as he and the analysts see fit based on performance.

In other words, patience grasshopper, patience.

his move to Rubin was a good move considering the contractual mess he was in iran at that time and he badly needed a professional environment to mostly toughen up and bulk-up a bit, but it aint doing him any more favor hanging around in Rubin if he isnt offered significantly more minutes moving forward ...! and even if afforded more minutes, Berdieve's chicken shittt, ultra defensive and frankly dryNboring tactics wouldnt really suite his flamboyant attacking flair ....so he is unlikely to flourish anymore at Rubin..!!
like you said, he probably needs to demand a loan or transfer .... they aint going to get $hitt for him considering he hasnt been give time to prove his quality, and i dont see Birdman as the sort of guy to offload his talent for free nor cheap.... so loan to hopefully a more attacking EU outfit would be most ideal..!!

He shoulda/should be invited regardless to TM call up lists coming up shortly..!! we are simply way too thin in CAM position for TM and he is just about the most promising youngster in that position..!
