Are you talking about his player/coach year with Saipa? I don't think anyone in their right mind can deny that Ali Daei is a legendary player, and I attribute most of that year's success to him actually playing and coaching. Play/coaching is very different than coaching, if I'm playing and coaching and buddy doesn't give me a pass when I asked for it, then buddy is gonna have to find himself a new team. It's a totally different power dynamic between the rest of the players and captain/coach. Since then he's had multiple opportunities to prove himself as a coach both in TM and Perspolis and he has shown how truly inept he is as a coach. He's good at introducing young new players though. Maybe he can coach the u16 or even u19 team but that's where it ends.

Also do you remember him suing the federation for money after getting sacked in TM? In fact he sues everyone and anyone, he's after one thing, money and that's it.

I would take Ali Daei over Brangoh in a heartbeat. At least we know Ali Daei has some balls. Brangoh on the other hand? Not so sure.

And PP getting eliminated in group stage, just confirms that he is a moron....with no balls.

    Interesting..!
That could certainly put him outa TM coaching picture ..! You’d think ..!??
Or in the corrupt mifiaso dealings surrounding IR/IFF, whistle blowing & becoming a belligerent liability could also well be the only way to get into jobs & positions for which he is clearly unqualified otherwise too..! !?
So I don’t know what to make of this whole ordeal ..!?🤔

Ali Daei has a lot of balls, maybe you guys haven't noticed the magnitude of what he has done here.

He has revealed the real name of Saipa's CEO. The guy's real name is not Mosataf Modabber, he has already changed his name twice to hide his identity. He is a terrorist and an assassin and one of the 3 present in the assassination of Kurdish leader Ghasemlou in Vienna in 1989.

This is the reason IRIB TV is heavily attacking him right now.

Its so funny that the management of Saipa are claiming that Daei has insulted the Saipa factory workers!!!! It seems like the Iranian government and pseudo-government officials hide behind the "people" and the "workers" every time someone questions their incompetence. I have a feeling that if this feud escalates, they will accuse him of insulting Islam or Ali or abolfazl or some other historical made up character.

Interestingly enough, the US politicians quickly hide behind the "American People" and the "American Soldiers" every time someone questions their incompetence. I guess cowardliness is a prerequisite to be a politician anywhere in the world.

Nothing against the man himself, but I personally do not find him as a credible candidate.

So instead of having a problem with someone saying Daei is better than hashemian this is what stuck for you? Veisi, Golmohamadi, Nouri. The point isnt that we should go with an Iranian, a foreign coach can be much better. The point is out of all the Iranian coaches why Daei...

There are many great Iranian coaches. Daei is not one of them. Experience at being mediocre is meaningless.
