That is indeed not so good performance and not scoring 3.5 years for Iran. I would give CQ he is correct then. Will it be over for them playing Team-melli? I mean was this there last WC 2018 and no Asian Cup 2019 or WC2022?

They'll both be mid-30s next World Cup.

I think Dejagah has more chance of being at the Asian Cup, he needs a club though.

What I didn’t understand is if you are going to play Ansarifard from midfield why he seemed to be misused tactically. We weren’t getting him into the box enough and we didn’t really use him aerially. He’s not good or quick enough with his feet to link play from there.

Yes, he did a good defensive job but so did all of our midfielders bar none. Felt as if Ghoddos could’ve come on earlier against Spain for him and would’ve rather seen Torabi from the bench to run at Portugal’s full backs.

I think the better question would by why did Ghoddos not get more playing time, or better yet why did Torabi not get any playing time. Ansarifard did great I think.

You answered your own question there. Ansarifard did well enough so there was no one for Ghoddos or Torabi to replace.
